Silverload's FunFactor definitely completes with other games. A weekend rental, and you'll be howling for joy.

Silverload is indeed a unique game. I happen to like the genre and have been waiting way too long for something meaty like this to come along. The puzzles are great and the shooting sequences are even better. SL is a hard game to put down. My only gripe is that if you waste an item, you have no way to get it back.

Yee-haw! What could be cooler than a horror/western game? Try to keep body and soul together as you try to find out who's been stealing all the settlers' children. Kick-ass graphics and really great creepy atmosphere make this a winner!

If you like point and click/puzzle solving type games, you will love this! The story is deep and well thought out and most importantly, the puzzles make sense. This is not intended to mean that they are easy though! Some of them are downright brainmashing. Now the downside...due to the fact that this is a puzzle-style game, it is quite linear. Once you get finished with the game there is little reason to go back and play again (unless you just want to show off the great graphics to your friends).

The game's only real flaw is the interface, which is icon and "hot-spot" based. While this type of interface works fine on a PC (in fact was designed for one), using the PSX controller sometimes causes some problems. Unfortunately, the PlayStation mouse, even though compatible, doesn't seem to help. Barring the interface, Silverload is a welcome addition to the PlayStation's relatively small library of graphic adventures.

This game just missed on a lot of things Resident Evil had, such as simpler, user friendly player interface, and good control. These games are obviously different, but share a similar adventure format, which makes it easy to see why Resident Evil became,...well, Resident Evil, and why Silverload basically, bites the dust. . .
