Mega Fun (Jun, 2000)
GameSpot (Oct 11, 2000)
Though derivative in style, Spin Jam is decidedly unique, and it may make a good purchase for puzzle fans looking for something fresh.

Well, I’m pretty sure you’ve picked up some mixed signals in the article. Just like the game with itself, I’m not sure how to think of it. If you’re willing to ignore the irritating factors and are looking for a decent puzzler to mull over, you’re probably going to buy this. If you’re after a tolerable 2-player game, I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend it. And if you’re not a fan of Shampoo, I’d advise bringing some earplugs with you.

The Video Game Critic (Mar 22, 2001)
Spin Jam's gameplay is fun enough, but the user interface could use some serious work. First off, the main menu is in dire need of text! Does Empire really expect people to know what those weird icons are supposed to mean? In addition, the two-player split screen mode is a major letdown. Instead of clearing stages, both players participate in one never-ending stage, and things get out of hand right away. For the solo player however, Spin Jam is a safe bet.

Spin Jam’s not that bad really. It’s an arcade puzzle game, where you have to get coloured balls to fly into their relevant pockets by causing small atomic/nuclear explosions. You get to play as various mutated Japanese cartoon characters, not that it really affects the gameplay at all. In fact nothing affects the gameplay, it just goes on and on and on for as long as you can bear it. The problem with Spin Jam is that with the PS2 round the corner, it just feels so dated. In terms of graphics, music or addictiveness it doesn’t even compare favourably with Beehive Bedlam and that comes free with Sky Digital!
Consoles Plus (Sep, 2000)
A oublier rapidement.
Power Unlimited (Jul, 2000)
