Due to an error, the disc labels for the North American release were switched. The original Strider is in fact on the Strider 2 disc, and the sequel is on the disc labeled "Strider".

The game also includes a bonus stage and the ability to play as strider Hien (Hiryu's rival) if a saved game from the original Strider is found on the memory card.

Strider 2 for the Playstation includes a bonus disc with it, the original Strider 1 game, which is a port of the original arcade game.
