Absolute Playstation
We played this game over and over to be sure of our opinion before writing this review and while on paper it offers more variety than any of its competitors (especially for the single player), the overall experience was quite shallow when compared to games like International Track and Field 2. Its not a bad game by any means and we feel sure that it will compliment the actual event nicely, its just that this type of game has been done better by others.

Unfortunately, the lack of gameplay variety and bothersome load times between events (especially in the Olympics training mode) might put off some casual gamers. However, if you buy into the whole button-mashing mentality of track and field games, you'll find that Sydney 2000 turns in a solid, finger-numbing performance.

Som jag var inne på tidigare är det dock inte första gången som ett spelföretag har misslyckats med att förvalta en sportlicens. Inte för att jag tror att Eidos resonerar som Electronic Arts, men man kan ju undra om de hade varit lika stolta över Sydney 2000 Olympics om det inte hade varit just för licensen.

Sydney 2000 n’est pas un jeu à acquérir. Il n’est pas très beau, particulièrement injouable et possède une difficulté qui repoussera de nombreux joueurs. Toutefois, si vous aimez les simulations d’athlétisme, allez plutôt jouer à International Track and Field 2 qui, lui, vaut le coup.

Ook al zijn de graphics van de Dreamcast ietsje mooier, er is geen enkele reden om deze game aan te schaffen.

Quelle belle aventure que les jeux Olympiques ! C'est l'image que pouvait véhiculer Sydney 2000. Malheureusement, ce jeu est doté d'une réalisation déplorable et d'un intérêt global plus que limité. Dommage, car les épreuves, si elles avaient bénéficié d'un plus grand soin, auraient pu être très amusantes. International Track & Field 2 toujours Number One !
