There are 15 tanks to choose from, some of which need to be opened up by completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold competition tracks, and each of them handles differently according to top speed, acceleration, handling and grip. Besides the standard eight single-player tracks and a further eight versus circuits designed specifically for two human players, there are six purpose-built arenas, where blowing ten bells of bejesus out of each other is the order of the day. It’s lively and gratifying in the short-term, but you soon tire of the relentless shoot ‘n’ dodge requirements. If you’re looking for longevity, you may be happier slugging it out over a career option in RR Type 4, but for slap-happy, scenery-mashing hokum, Tank Racer ranks up there with the best of them.
Met de Single Player mode kan je een hoop plezier beleven maar de Multiplayer mode valt een beetje tegen. De graphics zijn natuurlijk minder dan die van de PC, maar ook naar PSX-standaard niet meer dan gemiddeld.
