Actually, the main strategy of one of the boss is to push you off! Tobal's graphics are simple but remarkably clean, making this game quite easy on the eyes. The background music is also quite good. Tobal No.1 is no joke, and if you're a serious fighting fan, this game belongs in your collection.

It is really hard for me to say anything negative about Tobal. I feel once anyone gets acquainted with it, they will unquestiongly enjoy it. Tobal No. 1 is essential for everyone who enjoys fighting games, or just likes the Final Fantasy series (referring to the bundled demo). Tobal is A-OK in my book.

Tobal No.1 isn't perfect, I'll give you that. A little more variety in the characters' moves would certainly be welcome, as would more special moves. Tobal is, however, willing to take some much-needed chances with the established fighter model, and for that it should be commended. The Quest mode and new 3D movement make Tobal not so much revolutionary, but evolutionary. Hopefully more developers will look to Dream Factory's example in the future.

Last but not least, braucht der moderne Hobby-Fighter in Zeiten von Tekken 2 ein größeres Schlagrepertoire.

I'm a true believer in buying games that aren't the best but are from being the worst. Tobal No. 1 isn't the best fighting game around, nor is it the best adventure/RPG around, but it is a fun game with lots of neat options (and it just so happens to come with an awesome Final Fantasy VII demo, too). The graphics aren't super realistic, but the animation is flawless and there are plenty of cool backgrounds to keep things interesting. The moves in the game are very cool as well. Some, like Tekken 2, almost make you feel the pain. Besides all of this, the characters are pretty hilarious (like my favorite, the chicken man).

Although Tobal No. 1 is simplistic, the combination of action and role-playing is at times absorbing and intense. For those who can handle the sluggish control, this game makes for a good value.

The backgrounds and fighters are poor compared to Tekken2. Every character has different moves. Practice mode helps you learn the moves. Only 8 Characters and 3 bosses. Graphics are mediocre, animation really good, the sounds and music O.K. and the Gameplay is very good. If you liked Tekken, you'll like this one.

Powerful competition from Tekken 2 and VF2 keep Tobal down but not completely out. The 3-D animation and Quest mode offer something different from fighting fans.
