All of the goals were different and the items were scattered around in different places. It was a completely new game to play. Tasks were actually a little more difficult, and required a bit more skill on my part. I was a little disappointed with the create-a-skater mode, but the fact we could take it "backwards up the poop shoot" makes for a great feature and was glad they didn't remove it. nd the fact there's a gap checklist adds hours of replay value.
Recomendado. : La enorme jugabilidad que atesora. El editor de skaters. La banda sonora. Sigue fiel a sus estilo.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on edelleen täyttä rautaa.
When it comes down to it, the PlayStation version of Tony Hawk 3 simply cannot compete with the PS2 version--they're not even in the same league. But it's truly unfair to compare the two versions of the game. When compared with any other PlayStation skating game out there, Tony Hawk 3 rates quite favorably. If you're not ready to commit to the PlayStation 2 yet, and you've grown weary of the levels in Tony Hawk 2, then Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is just the ticket.
In the long run, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 builds upon the foundations that made THPS 2 one of the most addictive games ever made, and delivers the goods to fans looking for a new challenge. New additions (especially the revert and Create-a-Skater Mode) bring some welcome elements to an already ultra-strong series, and that's what really matters. Just be aware that the version going to PS2 owners is almost a different game entirely, and GameCube and Xbox fanboys will have their own places to grind very soon now. If you're still stuck with your trusty original PlayStation yet can't ever seem to whet your appetite for extreme sports, TPHS 3 should definitely be on your menu this season.
When I gave Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 a perfect score of 10 a year ago, many questioned my judgement. All too often I was asked, "What will you give Pro Skater 3 then? An 11?" At the time, however, I truly felt Neversoft had achieved a level of perfection that would never be matched on PlayStation. It turns out I was right. The PS-X version of Tony Hawk 3 has only proven to me that part 2 was such a monstrous release, not even its masters could defeat it.
Overall, the game is a great experience that I highly recommend. The hardest thing is learning the moves, and then being able to execute them when appropriate. Takes practice, but it’s all fun. There are plenty of options to play alone, or against a skate savvy friend. Maybe the first two in the series were better, but I think this one is strong enough o stand on it’s own. Shaba Games had big shoes to fill, and did not disappoint. Neversoft may have left the franchise in the hands of another, but we are left with a challenging, adrenaline fueled experience to keep the heart racing.
Overall, THPS3 on the PSOne is a commendable effort for a system that's over half a decade old. There's a lot missing, but the essentials that make it a fun game are there. The Revert alone should warrant interest from anyone that's a die-hard Hawk fan, and with fourteen skaters, there's plenty of replay value. The important thing to remember, though, is that you may be disappointed in you accidentally catch a glimpse of this game running on next generation hardware. Either wear blinders to the store or order it online to avoid that.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 shows that the series is not willing to go softly into the long, dark night of the PlayStation. It rages against the dying of the console's light with aplomb, and mostly succeeds as a truly worthy sequel.
I still had fun playing – it IS Tony Hawk – but this falls well short of expectations. A while back, one reader suggested that we might want to marry Tony, due to all the praise we’ve lavished on the series. Well, it looks like the honeymoon is over.
I have no idea of the reason behind the poor quality of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on the PSone, but I'm assuming that it's because Neversoft didn't develop it. Please, stay away from this game like like a pile of fresh, steaming poo. Considering the severe problems, I would suggest sticking with THPS 2 until you can afford a PS2.
