"Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones" fecha com chave de ouro a trilogia.

Although the initial storyline is a little confusing, especially if the gamer is new to the series, the overall flow of the storyline and game work very well. This is a quality conclusion to the trilogy. It has everything and more that a new gamer or series veteran would want. If you liked the first two games, then you will enjoy this latest episode. With the improved features and abilities, combined with the classic ones, you will enjoy the final journey right through to the end.

Since the resurrection of the Prince of Persia games three years ago, Ubisoft has turned the franchise into one of the best platform game series’ available today. Starting with the Sands of Time and then onto The Warrior Within, each princely game keeps what works, fixes what doesn’t and keeps a continuous storyline through each adventure. For the third installment, it again continues the story from the previous two games in which we find the prince returning to Babylon with Kialeena after his defeat over the Dahaka.

It's certainly up for debate, but I would say that this is probably the best-made Prince of Persia title overall. Even if you don't agree with that heady assertion, it's a noble entry in the series and proves once again why I'm always grateful that Ubisoft brought this franchise back.

You can’t always get what you want, but Prince of Persia’s trilogy-ending entry gives something that everyone can get behind. Intense platforming segments are perfectly balanced to highlight the joy of movement and the glory of getting a sequence right. Brutal combat gets a facelift with cinematic finishers and more ties between action and platforming. In all, the Ubisoft Montreal team appears to have split the difference between the two earlier, excellent games with design ideas clearly aped from each, while judiciously cutting less-successful ones. The balance is spot-on, meaning that only the good is left and the jaggy parts of this title are largely new hurdles for the series.

I'm sad that this is the last game, at least for a while, and I'm hoping that someday we'll see a continuation or a new beginning with the same style of gameplay. I would recommend that everyone who is a fan of the series give this game a shot, and that those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to play the last titles will give this one a go as well. It is a fantastic trip. Next December is going to feel a little hollow unless something rises to take Prince of Persia's place.

Games like this rarely work without resorting to violence, but toss away the fighting system, and you can still have fun with the Prince's Fred Astaire-like dexterity in zipping around obstacles.

As a conclusion to the ‘Sands of Time trilogy’ (Ubisoft’s term), The Two Thrones is about as good as we could’ve wished for. It maintains the Prince of Persia feel of daring-do, while improving or adding variety in some areas, and discarding mistakes like excessive combat and marketing-spun attitude. I sincerely hope that another PoP game is in development, because it would be a shame to lose everything a sequel could offer.

The first chapter in the trilogy, The Sands of Time told the story of a young prince fuelled by his eagerness to impress his father and his ambition to bring great honour to himself and his family. He rushes headlong into the unknown, steals the infamous dagger of time from its secret hiding place, but is then tricked by the evil Vizier into using the dagger to unleash the sands of time turning virtually everyone in the land into an evil sand creature in process. However, with help from the princess Farah, he is soon able to defeat the Vizier and return the sands to the hourglass, restoring peace and normality to the kingdom.

There are some games series that just simply continue to get better with age. I can think of few game series in which I have played every one, and enjoyed almost every one. One such series is about a young Arabian man, a Prince, who's adventures have taken him from saving the woman you love, who happens to be the daughter of the Great Sultan, from the evil clutches of Grand Vizier Jaffar, to the Sands of Time. Yes, I am talking about Prince of Persia. You know I wonder if the game's orginator, Jordan Mechner, ever invisioned how popular and awe-inspiring his creation would be. Prince of Persia goes back a long way, well into my early years as a game player. The original Prince of Persia was developed in 1989 by a small company called Broderbund.

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones may just be the best game in the series. With two iterations in the books, Ubisoft decided to hold back on the next-generation Prince of Persia, thus opting to finish out the trilogy on current-gen consoles--smart move. Developer Ubisoft Montreal has consistently tapped the PlayStation 2 for max performance, and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is one more reason to dust off the ol' PS2 for a timely last ride.

The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy has always been known for its tight controls and satisfying environmental puzzles set in beautiful levels. The series' control scheme has served as a model for countless other games that also feature an acrobatic protagonist like the Prince. The same great interface remains in the third game of the series, The Two Thrones. Like the other two games, you'll find yourself wall running, jumping, flipping, and vaulting your way up fiendishly designed environmental puzzles, as well as fighting vicious enemies with the improved combat system introduced in the last game, Warrior Within. The Prince has a few new tricks up his sleeve as well, but longtime fans of the series should still feel right at home.

For gamers, Christmas is traditionally a time for staying in and playing games that are a bit special. Headlining this reviewer’s festive line-up for the past three years have been games bearing the Prince of Persia moniker. After 2003’s fairytale-esque Sands of Time, last year’s excessively gritty Warrior Within left us worrying about the direction the franchise was headed, so it’s with a great sense of relief that we found ourselves wrapping-up the trilogy’s conclusion on a high.

The Two Thrones marks a fitting end to a fantastic trilogy. The plot ties up all the loose ends and should prove satisfying for fans of the series. Though some new gameplay mechanics have been introduced, such as the speed kill and the new tricks of the Dark Prince, The Two Thrones is still basically very similar to the other two games--if you didn't like those for some reason, this game's not likely to pull you in. The game still makes missteps; it forgets about checkpoints during some tricky trap areas, the new one-button attacks become hard to pull off when the camera goes haywire, and the annoying final boss battle is as fun as leaping around a giant toilet bowl in a snowstorm. Otherwise, it's nice to see a return of elegance to the series.

I've entered as a thief in my own city, I fought, I travelled, I visited the shattered Hanging Gardens of Babylon, I won the chariots race, I sneaked through secret passages and entered long forgotten caverns, I fulfilled my dream a visited a brothel, I won in the arena, I fought my way up the tower, I've been through all sorts of places and, eventually, I won. The evil was cleansed, the world awoken to a better life, far from hatred and wars. So was Babylon worth all the trouble? Yes and no. The ending is, again, a matter of tastes. Rival Swords on the PSP is as fully featured as its console counterparts, and it offers a lot of extra content to boot. After a few slipshod bosses, you'll find yourself at the end of the game, asking the very question posed earlier in this review: Was the trilogy worth the ride? Well, if you watched the ending in Two Thrones, and then went back into all the unlockable CG videos, the overwhelming feeling there is a resounding "yes!" Although some areas of the game were frustrating (beware the last boss), The Two Thrones features a classic interactive ending sequence and epilogue that nicely wraps up the whole trilogy and does the seemingly impossible -- that is, it makes you forgive and forget the lost years represented by The Warrior Within, and lets you to judge the trilogy on the whole. As you log the series as a notch in your gaming history, you come away with a sense of nostalgia and loss... which in and of itself is a feat to be applauded.

In the end, it's really terrific to once again play a Prince of Persia that brings the series back to the remarkably enjoyable surprise we remember from 2003. Even unnecessary additions like the execrable racing sections didn't truly mar my enjoyment of the game. Indeed, The Two Thrones makes such an enjoyable capstone for the series, it's difficult to see where it's going to from here. I've no doubt that there will eventually be a new Prince of Persia game, though. Now that the prince is once again on firm footing, it'd be a crime not to let his adventures continue.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time may have been better than we dared hope, but the first sequel was a weak follow-up. Warrior Within placed too much emphasis on combat and brooding darkness, and the series' spirit of adventure dimmed. As the final chapter of the so-called "Sands Trilogy," The Two Thrones makes a few missteps, but its smooth acrobatics, new combat options, and gorgeous Babylon environment make it the sequel we've been waiting for.

The series' middle child, The Warrior Within, was a strange, misshapen product seemingly molded from focus group testing and marketing demands. As if to make up for tainting the franchise with a travesty, The Two Thrones plays like a sincere apology to fans of the series. Instead of the self-righteous, egocentric motive that drives the Prince throughout the last game, the latest installment features a more fallible protagonist whose outlook on his current quagmire changes convincingly and dramatically as the game reaches climax.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is one of the first games that actually utilize the Wii controls in a fun and intuitive way. Most games just tack them on, making them feel out of place, while Ubisoft spent some time with it, figured out what worked and what didn’t. Unfortunately they didn’t do anything else to improve the game like graphics. It is becoming too easy for developers and publishers to just add minor things to games and then port them to other systems, especially the Wii.

Going back and revising the series might seem like a good idea, but I think it's best to move forward . The basic mechanics and ideas are still fairly cool and I'm always a sucker for a good environmental puzzler with acrobatics aplenty. In that sense Two Thrones is good stuff, but the rest could use some brushing up. Besides, revisiting the past would mean having to go through Prince of Persia 3D again, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

At its core, this is still the same great game we've been playing for years. It comes with all the charm of the Prince's skills, attitude, and acrobatics, and the new controls are quite fun to use, even if they are a bit frustrating at times thanks to the camera control. The fact is that it's still the same game that came out on the PS2 and XBOX. If you are a fan of the series, and have played The Two Thrones, I would recommend playing through that one again and saving fifty bucks. However, if you missed Two Thrones, or are the type of person who craves that motion sensing control, go pick this one up, because even with its flaws it is still Prince of Persia done right.

WiiWorth Playing
It's kind of annoying that Ubisoft misled the public by giving this a new name of Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, when it's simply a port of Two Thrones with tacked-on motion controls. While some of Prince's acrobatic movements are decent with the Wiimote, the combat — especially the Speed Kill — suffers badly, and overall, the game performed better with a tradition control scheme. If you haven't played Two Thrones, the third Prince of Persia title, go ahead and buy it for the Gamecube, seeing as you can play it on your Wii anyway — and for a much cheaper price tag.

Fundamentally, Prince of Persia Rival Swords is a good game. The question, though, is whether Rival Swords is worth playing over the GameCube version of Two Thrones, which by this time is only $20. There's some added content that mostly equates to a few extra buzz saws lining the walls, so it really comes down to whether the motion controls are worth $30, which they aren't. In fact, the most that can be said for the motion controls is that they stay out of the way. In all other regards, Rival Swords is the same game as Two Thrones, so you'd be much better served just picking up the older version and squandering the $30 you saved on some kind of hardcore Prince of Persia action figure.

WiiIGN
The bottom line is that Rival Swords is the same game as The Two Thrones with added Wii controls that sometimes better the experience and sometimes worsen it, but if I had to choose, I'd take a traditional control setup to the new gesture system. Bearing that in mind, I'm telling you to pick up the GameCube version of Two Thrones and play it on Wii if you need a fix of Prince of Persia. It's a lot cheaper and you aren't sacrificing the gore factor, if that's your thing. At the same time, I'm conceding that if you do buy Rival Swords for Nintendo's next-generation console, you won't be walking away with a bad game. It is nearly as fun and engaging today as it was when it was first released in December of 2005 for the other systems.

Prince of Persia : Rival Swords continues the Prince’s epic journey toward redemption and/or the complete disruption of the space-time continuum. The games leading up to the Prince’s current predicament – Babylon in flames, the vizier doing all sorts of nasty – are recapped in a barrage of apparent non-sequiters about fate, time, and destiny. All of which should hit the wall above your head. Really, none of it matters unless you’ve been following the story from its beginning in The Sands of Time. Fans of the series should be able to appreciate the continuation of the story but the action treads ground the series has covered many times before.

If you haven’t played Two Thrones before, the Wii rendition into Rival Swords is worth a look. Don’t expect next gen visuals, rather an example of a top quality last gen game. The unique controls scheme seems to work for the most part in Rival Swords, and is a fun game to play on the Wii, never mind it’s the only one with this type of content on the system. It’s hard for me to push Rival Swords because you can easily purchase Two Thrones for half the price. If you’re still interested Rival Swords, Ubisoft’s Two Thrones remix will probably meet your Arabian adventure expectations.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is a good handheld retelling of The Two Thrones. The atmospheric storyline remains intact and the game includes all the fun and engaging platforming and combat sequences of the console-based titles. Additionally, there is new content -- a real baffler since Ubisoft also made a Wii version that doesn't include it... and yet, there are drawbacks that keep the game from getting a higher score. Load times are still ever-present. The dual-analog nature of the Prince series has proved to problematic in the transition to Sony's handheld; you'll have to hold down the L button to control the camera and you can't move Prince around and change your viewing angle at the same time. And the game just runs slower, with a sometimes-sluggish framerate.

As uneven as it is, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones still has its moments. Solving a particularly nasty puzzle or leaping around a room dispatching bad guys can be incredibly cinematic and entertaining. However, you'll undoubtedly become frustrated by the design, regardless of the system. The Xbox version has shorter loading times, but aside from that minor and inexorable detail, each version is as good, and bad, as the others. We're glad to see Ubisoft spare their Prince from becoming a pauper by ditching the dreary aesthetic, but the minor improvements along with too many familiar gripes keep this game from being king.

Ultimately, Rival Swords is still a great action-adventure game -- one that you should play at some point if this is the type of game you're interested in. And it plays fine on Wii, so as an experiment to see if this type of game could work on Wii -- apart from the odd blood removal and rating shift from Mature to Teen -- it's decently successful. But as a product that costs $50 in a store, it's tough to recommend given its sub-$20 little brother.

With so little added to the game, it's a shame that Ubisoft's Wii-make was released at the full $50 tag. If it had been $30, it would be worth the purchase of anyone who missed Two Thrones. I myself only played Two Thrones for an hour or so, so getting further into the game via Rival Swords was entertaining and enjoyable for me during my rental of the game. However, it is a full-priced game, and that to me entirely throws out the purchasing option. There are hardly any extras or additional bonuses, and that’s a tragedy. If Wii-makes are going to happen, they need to invigorate the consumer and show him or her that the Wii can do more than the GameCube, and the Wii-make needs bonuses. Otherwise, the Wii game in question isn’t worth its price, period. Unfortunately Rival Swords falls into that category.

If you've never played Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones before, don't let Rival Swords be your first foray into the final chapter of the Prince's adventure. The addition of a few extra areas does not make up for the massive amount of flaws, both gameplay and graphical, that turns a fun game into a chore. There is very little here to recommend this title over any other version. It does feature multiplayer, but even that is marred by the unwieldy controls and unappealing graphics. Unless you have no other choice, pick up Two Thrones on a console instead of the PSP. You'll be much happier in the end.

So it's definitely not a great port, and the game would've been much better off if the effort that went into creating the new content had been put toward polishing the core game instead (the ad hoc multiplayer race mode, where you challenge another player to see who can move through certain areas quicker, hardly adds anything to the overall experience). But for those who want a title like this on the PSP, there's a game to love hidden down deep in here. You just have to dig through a bunch of technical obstacles to get to it.

It's a shame that Rival Swords turned out like this, because it does almost everything right - great gameplay in healthy doses, a bountiful supply of extras, additional exclusive gameplay, the list goes on. But none of that really matters when the core of the game is destroyed due to the poor optimization. If you really want to play Prince of Persia, stick to the home consoles; the portable version just doesn't cut it.
