Description
Project Entropia is a "semi-free" Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), set in the far future on the distant world of Calypso; where dangers, wonders and opportunities lies behind every corner.
Although free to download and use, Entropia uses a new economy system, where players can convert real-world money into the virtual PED (Project Entropia Dollars) for use ingame. This also applies the other way: as you can also make money in the game which can be converted back to real-world credits.

The 2008 Guinness Book of World Records lists the most valuable virtual item and real estate among virtual worlds as Club NEVERDIE, an asteroid space resort bought for $100,000 by gamer Jon NEVERDIE Jacobs.
The virtual resort in Entropia Universe has 1000 apartment complexes, a shopping mall, nightclub, commercial space ship docking, mega sports stadium, and hunting and mining biodomes. It's claimed to be the highest-grossing privately owned virtual event venue online.
A virtual bank license was also sold in this game on May, 2007 for $99,900 USD.
