Description
You have just left the peaceful town of CrissCross to defeat the evil Krellane and his powerful Empire. The residents of the town have survived for years by hiding from the empire but rumors have surfaced that the soldiers of the empire are nearing. You have heard that only the hero of the Prophecy could prevail against the Empire, and you embark on your quest to fulfill that prophecy.
Prophecy: The Fall of Trinadon is a role-playing game in which the player controls a single character, navigating him through top-down environments. Combat is action-oriented: the player has to physically control the hero as he uses melee weapons, bows, and magical spells. Beside regular enemies, the hero also has to fight powerful bosses.

Trivia
The game's full title is
Prophecy: The Fall of Trinadon, though it is only used in-game (on the title screen, character sheet and in the credits text). Box and manual simply speak of
Prophecy.
"Trinadon" is the name of the evil lord Krellane's castle. The "Prophecy", of course, refers to a young hero who will come and free the land of Krellane's rule.
Interestingly, the title screen gives a slightly longer name still:
Prophecy I. A sequel never came to be though, and
Prophecy is not open ended - even if the ending is not very satisfactory.
