This impenetrable, finely tweaked, miniature godsend needs to be experienced, loved and cherished. It’s a game that defies and defiles expectation by being one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had on a portable gaming system.
Gravity Rush is one of the best open-world games available, portable or otherwise. The atmospheric world, likable cast, and clever, entertaining mechanics make it a title that you can easily sink many joyous hours into, even if you spend a lot of them just flying around the city and hunting for gems. I don’t know if anyone is going to go out and buy a Vita just for this one game, but if you already own the new system, you really should experience all the gravity-shifting mayhem for yourself.

Gravity Rush has some rough edges in it, but the game as a whole is incredible. The storyline is intriguing with some interesting characters, and the scope of the world is pretty remarkable for a portable adventure. Sadly, some control hitches make me wish this was just on a console where they couldn't shoe-horn in some functionality that doesn't work well for the game. Thankfully, there aren't many problems, and they're largely negated by the amazing graphics and catchy soundtrack. Any Vita owners longing for a really exciting adventure-platformer should snatch it up as soon as possible.

Gravity Rush isn't a smooth trip. In its most intense moments, it's chaotic and acutely frustrating. Yet it remains a marvelous, standard-setting creation, and the proof is only a button-press away. In the free-floating splendor that follows, it's hard to hate any part of Gravity Rush. As Kat shows, no one flies perfectly on the first try.

Overall, Gravity Rush is easily one of the more positive experiences I have had on the PS Vita to date. The gravity shifting elements work to near perfection and the game has all those addictive features that make it ideal for a handheld game. Gravity Rush is by no means a perfect game, as there are certainly some areas that could have used some tweaking, but when you flush it all out it is a pretty darn good game and one worthy of any Vita owners attention and money.
Gravity Rush, with its weird, distinctly Japanese narrative and fresh, well-executed concepts, is as much a justification for buying a PS Vita as Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Arguably, it’s a more consistently entertaining and ambitious title. It slips when that ambition is forgotten, or when old ground is retreaded, but those moments are the minority. You can spend hours in Heksville, and the open promises of a sequel are welcome even once you have. There’s fun in buckets here, although you might need one if the motion sickness hits. Get it now.

This is very thoughtful and original title that really works. I don't think I've even played anything like this before and that's saying something.
