What BR3 DOES have is really cool, interesting characters and the whole 'beast change' aspect. There's strategy that can be hinged on the beast abilities. In addition, the control scheme is different than most fighting games; it actually has different types of control for different characters (well, beyond the basic kick, punch, block and beastorize). When all is said and done, the game is fun and somewhat addictive. (Just make sure you don't have the difficulty set too high - or you'll get frustrated with the game.) Bloody Roar 3 isn't 'state - of - the - art', but it does offer a unique angle on the fighting genre.

Gaming Target
Regardless of that, if you want story line, do not play a fighting game. If you want top-notch action, with a fantasy theme, BR3 might be your best alternative to what is available on the market. It is a good fighting game with a few decent surprises that will keep you entertained.

In the end my personal experience with Bloody Roar 3 turned out quite positive, as of course you can see I gave the game a solid 8.3, and it certainly does deserve it. Bloody Roar 3 is an excellent visual showcase for the Playstation 2's particle effects production. Bloody Roar 3 is one of the most pleasing eye-candy experiences I've come across. Other than that the game plays furiously fast, the action never skips a beat and is flowing continuously. It'd be stupid of me not to recommend Bloody Roar 3 as a purchase, because this game is simply fast and fun, casual fighting game fans will enjoy it, but those who swear only to Tekken will not. If you're being skeptical, at least rent the game to see for yourself.

So, you may be wondering, for all this complaining I'm doing, why the moderately good score? Plain and simple, Bloody Roar is fun, and the better look and dynamic camera switches have made it more entertaining. There's plenty of old-school juggling and corner trapping to be had, and some of the best supers you'll ever see. Also, as I said earlier, it's just such a cool idea.

The PS2 has been barren of A fighting games since launch, and while Bloody Roar 3 is a refreshing change of pace, it doesn't offer anything that wasn't featured in its first two incarnations. Newcomers will be pleased, but for rabid fans, this is a mute Roar.

The fighting cognoscenti may scoff at various bits of questionable gameplay here and there, then, but the rest of us can just snicker and fire off another Beast Drive. Give it a rental at least, and don't be surprised if you come back for more.

As I played through this game it was fairly easy to see where the games ups and downs were. Ups are the graphics and the music (what's new right?). Downs are character depth and gameplay...If you're really looking for a good fighting game I would advise getting Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore or Tekken Tag, but if you have those already and you're a fan of the BR series then go ahead and give it a try, I advise renting before buying! Trippyliquid...trippin out!

Despite it's prominent flaws, Bloody Roar 3 is still a solid title. If you're a fan of the series or simply have an itch for a new fighter, you shouldn't be disappointed with this purchase.

Armchair Empire, The
When compared to all of the fighters out there like Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Capcom's cornucopia of fighting games, Bloody Roar 3 just doesn't stand up. If you're looking for a new game in this genre, keep on looking because this one isn't worth it.

Gaming Age
So is Bloody Roar 3 worth the money? With fighters like Virtua Fighter 4 and Tekken 4 on the horizon, there is beginning to be little room for games like Bloody Roar 3. Bottom line is, definitely rent this one before you buy.

GameSpot
Given the strides in 3D fighter design made by companies like Namco, Sega, and Tecmo, there really is no reason for anyone to pay much attention to Bloody Roar 3, aside from its bold visual stylings and faux heavy metal soundtrack. If you like the Bloody Roar series already, though, then this might be right up your alley. But if you like fighting games for their technique and depth of design, then this certainly won't hold your attention.

So there you have it: An average fighting game cleverly disguised as an animal combat game. It's great for those wild full moon parties, but once the sun comes up, it's back to normal.

It’s sad to watch as the Bloody Roar series goes to hell. It has a decent gimmick to make it stand out among other fighters. If only the minds behind this game actually sat down and figured out how to implement the gimmick properly, it could have the makings of something great. But in the meantime, Bloody Roar 3 stands average at best, a last resort for fighting game fans looking to supplement their collection. Despite having a decent concept, the game falls flat against the competition. Maybe it’s the lack of challenge. Or maybe it’s the original combat system. Whatever it is, it makes this game reek of poor quality. As I turn away in disgust, I’m hoping that something good will happen for this series. Someday, Bloody Roar will come back as a force to be reckoned with in the gaming community. But as far as this game goes, skip it. Unless you’re an animal lover, you won’t be missing anything.
