Bratz: Rock Angelz

Bratz: Rock Angels isn’t going to appeal to everyone. With that said, there aren’t many girls within the game’s target group that wouldn’t complain too much about Bratz (unless they’re the type that prefers action to fashion).

Bratz Rock Angelz for the PS2 is a game you might want to buy for the young Bratz fan in your family. Combining fun mini-games, hot fashion items and an entertaining story, it doesn’t get any better than this game.

All in all, Bratz is a solid game for the crowd it's catered to. The average gamer demographic won't have much interest, but the oft overlooked younger teen crowd of girl gamers might find something here that they can really enjoy. I definitely have to give a thumb up to the development team that worked on making what could have been simple license cash in into a playable, and enjoyable game.

Anyway, that's what girls like. Right? At least that's what girls who'll like this game will like. So what sort of a 24-year-old boy am I to complain when the rest of the game is so nicely put together? There's a lot of poppy music. The voice work is excellent. The graphics are clean. The load times are minimal. The story is amusing. And, the various creation mini-games challenge girls to apply their sense of style and creativity (of which I personally have none, God bless me).

Not all girls will enjoy Bratz: Rock Angelz - especially those who prefer Babylon 5 to Barbie anyway (there are some, we know this for a fact). Older children are likely to get very bored, very quickly and although the graphics are decent enough and there are one or two cute ideas (such as the mobile phone), there's really nothing here to elevate this game above the status of does-the-job cash-in. But at least it does do the job, as far as Bratz fans are concerned anyway - they won't be disappointed.

Don't. If you're a parent looking for a distraction for your little girl, then I could see Bratz Rock Angelz as a possible Christmas present. But if they are over the age of 10, then it's more than likely they're not interested in games of this sort anyway because they're smart enough to know pandering when they see it. My advice is to suffer through the next Lindsey Lohan movie instead because then you have the option for a matinee, and you'll be in and out in 90 minutes and get the same effect.

Destiné uniquement aux filles qui ont entre 7 et 12 ans, Bratz pourra peut-être plaire à ce public ciblé. Si vous ne faites pas partie de cette catégorie bien précise, vous risquez fort de vous ennuyer devant ce titre au contenu plutôt faible et au principe qui se résume essentiellement à faire du shopping pour pouponner ses personnages.
