Burnout 3: Takedown by EA Games is a revolutionary game for the arcade racing genre. The action is intense! What makes Burnout 3 so special is not the racing really, but rather the crashing. After watching the opening movie from start to finish, I was amazed by the incredible crashes. The graphics and sound are top-notch and obviously done by devoted professionals. EA describes Burnout 3 as a "pure arcade adrenaline rush." They weren't kidding.
As much as I'm hesitant to make statements as conclusive as the following, it must be said: Burnout 3: Takedown is the new king of arcade racers. Think about everything that was brilliant about its predecessors -- the whimsical take on the laws of physics, the gorgeous graphics, and the completely insane emphasis on crashing -- and multiply it by ten thousand. You now have an inkling as to how much Burnout 3 has added to the series' already-solid formula.
Game Freaks 365
If you're a casual racer, or hardcore, Burnout 3 is a racing game that no one should pass up. The sheer amount of time dedicated to this game, that the gamer will enjoy, is unbelievable. You'll never grow tired of the crashes, adrenaline-filled speed boosts, or insane traffic junctions. To close this review though, Burnout 3 is a game to remember, possibly the best arcade racer ever created.
With 70 cars to choose from and online and multiplayer modes on top of single player race and crash modes, Burnout 3: Takedown has a lot to offer. I don’t think I have ever played a faster racing game that had me not wanting to blink nor turn my PS2 off. The game looks great, sounds great, and plays great and I can’t recommend it enough. Burnout 3: Takedown is a must buy for every racing game fan and probably should be purchased or at least rented by every PlayStation 2 owner on the planet, since it is that good.
Burnout 3: Takedown is by far the game that you will have the most fun with since Halo came out. Seriously, even if you are not into racing type games, this game is definitely worth purchasing. The gameplay is always filled with action and the entire game has a real sense of speed. Both the racing and crashing aspect of the game are extremely fun and if you get board of racing, you can always try out some of the crash events. The graphics are well done as well.
Game Over Online
Regardless of the system or slight differences (soundtracks and online specifically), PS2 and Xbox owners both have outstanding racing awaiting them in Burnout 3: Takedown. The pictures accompanying this article just doesn’t do the game’s motion justice, and the sheer amount of racing options, tight controls, and satisfaction of crashes easily vaults this title into one of the best games of the year. If you own any of these consoles, go out, buy this game and get your crash on.
Burnout 3 is the ultimate arcade based racing game. This not only exceeds expectations, but also smashes them. This is one game to show off to your friends. Get it now, you won't be disappointed.
Unless your only idea of driving-game enjoyment involves playing the strictest of simulations, Burnout 3: Takedown is the driving game for you. It's instantly accessible, yet it has more than enough challenge to it to keep you busy for a very long time, even if you don't intend to play the game online. Furthermore, it's simply one of the most exciting, action-packed games to come along in a long time, regardless of genre. So even if driving games aren't normally your thing, if you're a thrill-seeker (at least in game terms), this offering has them in spades. Burnout 3: Takedown is an amazing achievement that anyone with a pulse will probably love.
Having spent another three menacing hours in between writing about the game's audio and writing this conclusion, I can wholeheartedly say that Burnout 3 may very well go down in the books as the finest arcade racing game of all time, and one of the best titles the racing genre has ever seen. Criterion has upped the ante by creating a game that doesn't just exceed the previous two, rather it completely eclipses them and most other racers out there.
You have never played a racer like Burnout 3: Takedown, and it would be an absolute crime if you went on living that way. Criterion's relentless ambitions for its arcade-inspired franchise, combined with Electronic Arts' steadfast production values, have paved the way for a true breakthrough in the amped-up racing genre. Burnout 3 offers up insane speed, unequaled crash sequences, and a truly new style of gameplay. It has reinvented the wheel, so to speak.

Deep down inside, even the most humble of personalities have pondered the question "What would happen if I slammed the pedal to the metal and launched my car into that fuel tanker?" Of course, that little thing called a "conscience" flares into effect and you find yourself re-adjusting your seatbelt and feathering the brakes rather than speeding forth into an explosive inferno of smoldering death. As it turns out, Burnout 3 is a celebration of these reckless driving dreams. It rewards players for swerving through oncoming traffic, applauds knocking opponents off of cliffs, and ultimately begs the question, "Just how much damage can one vehicle inflict upon a crowded highway or a busy city street?"
When one usually thinks of Cabela and hunting games, one thinks of protracted hunts in lush environments tracking a prey that can often be elusive. This makes sense. If you were an animal in the wilds and you heard someone stomping through your home and had bullets splintering trees near you or whizzing over your head, would you stick around to see what the fuss was about?
Until you’ve blasted along the gently curved outline of its European motorways via a delicate balance of brake and steering input (the accelerator never anything other than flat to the pad), nitrous flowing, gaze fixed firmly on the distance through burning eyes you daren’t shut while carving your way through traffic and trading paint with the competition at 200mph or more, you won’t have delved deep into Takedown’s core.
It still possesses the series’ trademark ability to deliver Tempest-like ‘in the zone’ moments of remarkable intensity unlike any of its contemporaries, but now comes with a confidently revised dynamic, marking this as Criterion Games’ finest hour. Crucially, it’s everything a racing videogame should be: a relentless, unwavering and phenomenal assault on the senses.

The physics are rock solid, and the only place that I'd like to see some change is in the cars (I'm a car dork, and real rides would be a nice addition). Still, I haven't played for about two hours, and the time away has been a worse withdrawal than any game in recent memory.

Burnout 3 manages to take racing to another level. It may not be a higher level but it's a different level. That's definitely good enough for me.
With a rating of 3+ I can highly recommend this title to anyone of any age, the fact is everything about this game is fun, the World Tour will take a hefty period of time to fully complete with 173 gold medals to claim and 100 crash courses to conquer and all the smaller extras, like finding all the signature takedown points keeping you busy for a long time to come. Even after the single player is completed this is something that can be picked up by anyone and enjoyed in the various multiplayer modes to choose from. So not surprisingly this comes highly recommended.
Christ Centered Game Reviews
In conclusion, there is no reason for anyone not to buy Burnout 3 unless that person HATES racing games. This is one of the most unapologetically fun games out there, and if you aren''t burning already, you should be!
Burnout 3 is a fantastic game. Its works because it appeals on many levels; have great multiplayer sessions or just play for hours on the superb single player mode. The game mechanics and graphics are amongst the best ever seen in the racing genre too. There are cracks though, such as the need to unlock all the Crash junctions, which can frustrate at times. The online mode is the biggest disappointment; a real missed opportunity. If Criterion had managed to successfully implement all of these modes, this game would have been one of the most complete gaming packages ever. As it stands, it's a game that nearly everyone will enjoy and it certainly is a true evolution of the racing genre.
It's difficult to talk about Burnout 3 using words. My initial plan was to compose this review entirely out of emoticons, using a lot of :D and XD and ^______^ -- that would be the most efficient (also the most annoying) way to get across how much fun this game is to play. Even not playing Burnout 3 is more fun than playing most games; I'm sitting here trying to write while my coworker is alternating between Road Rage and Crash Mode, and let me tell you, you ought to consider the mere existence of this writeup as me doing you a favor. Such is the hypnotic power of Burnout 3.
Traffic laws are overrated. Nobody ever follows them anymore; people are too caught up in their own agendas to even realize they’re breaking the law. They’ll be yammering away on their cell phones, completely oblivious to the fact that they forgot to signal, thus nearly sideswiping you as they change lanes. The speed limit is nothing more than a big number painted on a bunch of signs by the side of the road. Of course, people wouldn’t be able to read such signs anyway; they’re going too fast to notice.
Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
A couple Thanksgivings ago, I had probably my most enjoyable "impulse rental" ever. What I initially expected would be a game I'd pop in as an afterthought, and get a review out of ended up being a game my friends and I were clamoring for control over for the next 5 hours. Burnout 2: Point of Impact was one of my surprise picks of the year, and ever since playing the demo, I've been waiting to get behind the wheel of the full Burnout 3: Takedown experience. So, with no further ado, (I think we could all do with a little less "ado") let's step on the gas, and see what this baby's got.
Like any racing fan worth his weight in oil, I have a sweet tooth for crashes, pile-ups and mangled steel. Realism is all well and good, but not when it comes at the expense of action. All the car-tuning and customizing in the world can’t save a crashless racer from being a few insurance quotes shy of a worthy spot in my collection.
Withstanding some annoying AI issues, Burnout 3 is probably the most surprising title of the year. I figured there would be some car crashes and a little fun here and there, but I couldn’t have imagined this amount of pleasure coming from this title. The sheer enjoyment of planning the perfect takedown against your opponent (or better yet a friend) is priceless. Though just a tad bit repetitive at times during the World Tour, the online play keeps things fresh and fun for hours on end. I don’t see the fun stopping for quite some time. Pile on the cars and bring on the speed!
The Burnout series has probably improved and changed more than any other game series has in recent years, and Burnout 3 is definitely worth purchasing. It may not be much of a “racer” anymore, but it sure as hell is good fun.
Lazy Tech Guys
Burnout 3 is a riot and a fun racing game that doubles not only as a crowd pleaser but as a great single player experience.
