Wham! gaming
This is the true problem of Digimon Rumble Arena 2; in the end, it’s really for the fans. Yes, it is fun for people who do not like digimon…for a while. The reasons explained throughout this review are what make Digimon a decent game, but it proves to be too cheesy after a while for people who don’t like kid-anime shows like that. Thus, the score reflected in this review is in large part directed toward the digimon fan-base. Despite this, non-fans should consider giving the game a rental and, if they really do enjoy it, consider a purchase afterward, as Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is still a decent fighting game with enough twists in the gameplay to set it apart from the pack.

So far as replay value goes, there is some to be had, both in the single player and the multiplayer. In the single player, some of the unlockables are random, including 8 game modes and 3 characters. You just have to keep playing over and over until you get them all, although they aren't quite as interesting as the simple time and stock modes that you start out with. This game has the potential to last just as long as SSBM if people like that game, but only for those who don't play SSBM seriously, because they would hate the relative lack of strategy in this game. But for those who feel that SSBM is just a button masher and a game of luck, and enjoy it as such, this game should prove a worthy alternative, although I would say that anybody who is a fan either of SSBM or of Digimon should at least give this game a chance.

Smash Bros. enthusiasts will detest this one for it's failure to paint Nintendo mainstays all over its title. It also doesn't offer the maddening kind of simplistic complexity only Melee can. But, this isn't to seriously discredit the game, or Bandai. Rumble Arena isn't the best the videogame market offers, but it's substantial leap over anything the Power Rangers ever did, and hey...? That's got to count for at least 7.0 somethings, right?

Gaming Age
Digimon Rumble Arena is an average multiplayer game. It will satisfy the fans who want a decent way to beat each other, but it's not deep enough for other players to pick up.
