Description
Hitman: Contracts is the third game in the
Hitman series by Eidos Interactive and Io Interactive. Rather than a completely new game, it is more of a remake of the first two games in the series. Players take the role of "47", a hitman who is unlucky enough to get shot, and falls to the floor dying. The whole game takes place in "flashbacks", where 47 is reminiscing about past missions, previously seen in other Hitman games.
To complete the missions, 47 has access to a large variety of weapons. These include: pistols, both regular and silenced, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and more.
Hitman can be played as stealthily or as aggressively as the player wants. Several contracts will have a variety of ways be completed; from sheer firepower to more intelligent and stealthy methods. The game awards sneaky players with the "Silent Assassin" ranking and special weapon.
Alternate Titles
- "Hitman: Контракты" -- Russian Title
- "Hitman: Kontrakty" -- Polish Title
- "Hitman 3" -- Informal fan-title

Trivia
A large majority of the levels in Hitman:Contracts are simply remakes of the levels from the original Hitman Codename 47 game. Almost all of the major missions from the original game have been remade in Contracts, the only major levels that weren't remade were the Columbia mission where you assassinate Pablo Ochoa, and the deathmatch-style final confrontation in the Asylum (both of these levels were very action-oriented, and were probably deemed inappropriate given the Hitman series new focus on more crafty, less rambo-ish gameplay).
