Description
Intial D: Special Stage for PS2 is more than just an arcade port of Intial D : Arcade Stage (ver2).
There are two modes present in Initial D : Special Stage.
The first mode "Arcade Mode", likes it's name suggests, a direct port of the arcade game, where you choose a car from a list of Japan's most famous drift machines, and hit the streets challenging characters out of the manga. The objective here is to simply beat every one of the characters to become the number one driver. As you go along, you collect points, which you can then use to upgrade your car.
The second mode, "Story Mode" lets you play the role of Takumi . In this mode, there are a number of missions the user must complete. A nice touch that SEGA has done is that the missions are modelled after the events of the manga/T.V series.
Most of the mission's involving racing characters from the manga, in the order that Takumi raced them in the manga.
