Knight Rider: The Game

Knight Rider is a low-budget game that is average in every respect and comes off as being bland, boring, frustrating and generally a big disappointment. I'll add it to that big pile of TV/film tie-ins marked "Could have been great."

This game is rather 'bad' then, not because it isn't 'good', but that it goes nowhere in doing justice to the legend that is Knightrider. There would have been limitless potential in a GTA3-style game based around the character of Michael Knight and incredible talking car that puts Herbie well and truly in the shadows. A missed opportunity. This aside, fans of Knightrider will probably enjoy this game for the brief period this game is good fun but as for longevity of play this games falls heinously short of the rest of the pack. This is one to pick up and put down very quickly, with only a few redeeming qualities.

Knight Rider is a dilution of very weak ideas, with some lacklustre presentation but it strangely has a fascination in the crudeness of its presentation. Forget about racing at 300 mph with loads of hardware and an onboard computer. It may only be a penny under £20 but is this reason enough to present such a weak game?

Knight Rider 2 The Game is like those ridiculously unamusing ‘deely boppers’ – one to leave in the cupboard marked Eighties items to forget.

So in conclusion it’s sad to see a series that many of us loved as kids spun into such a poor title, but that’s just one of them things. Now all we need is a Blue Thunder game, an Airwolf game, an A-Team game (oh the glory…) and a Street Hawk title. Wouldn’t that be cool, eh? Still, the one good thing to come out of having this game turn up was the T-shirt. It is XXL which dwarfs me, but my 5ft tall pretty little lady friend has adopted it as a nightie, which is kind of cool if you know what I mean...
