Trivia
EA Cover curse
Madden 2001 is credited with starting the EA cover curse by featuring a player on the front of the box instead of John Madden himself. Since then, players on the cover of EA games have seemed to have horrible seasons, severe injuries, and legal troubles.
After going to three consecutive pro bowls and leading the Titans to a Superbowl appearance, Eddie George earned the cover spot on Madden 2001. One season later, his all-purpose yards went from 1962 with 16 touchdowns to 1218 with 5 touchdowns.
