Maximo is a sequel to the well known Ghosts'n'Goblins and Ghouls'n'Ghosts games. It has the same hero and a heap of remixed tunes and the difficulty level is also very hard as it was in the original games.

As a promotional item for the game's release, free pairs of heart-patterned boxer shorts, the kind Maximo wears underneath all that armor, were given away prior to the game's release by certain retail outlets.

During the course of the game, you can buy different kinds of boxers (such as cow spots, heart prints, etc.) One of the kinds of boxers you can get is a "POW" boxer. POW was a power-up in classic Capcom games and can be seen in the games 1942, Exed Eyes, Side Arms and more.
