The cops are on to you and your crew in Need for Speed™ Carbon. The races are already set, but the heat is coming down, so where do you and your fellow racers go? Leave the comforting concrete confines of the city and take to the winding, treacherous curves of Carbon Canyon.

Push your driving and drifting skills to the max with a whole new style of street racing, hugging wicked corners with a rock wall to one side and a sheer drop on the other. Now that you've seen what real racing is like, Carbon is the only game in town. City racing is for kids.

    • Drive on dangerous curves: Race in all-new environments ranging from narrow city streets to mountain trails to treacherous canyon roads.
    • Lead a turf war: Battle for turf, scrapping for every city block. When the cops show up, take the races to the hills. You're not racing for slips, you're racing for territory, and every second counts.
    • Experience autosculpt mode: Tweak your car in every way you can imagine. Do your turf proud with those tiny adjustments that make all the difference.
    • Tweak exclusive new cars: Take the wheel of dozens of sport racers, including the 2003 BMW M3 GTR, the 2006 Porsche Cayman S, Lamborghini Murcielago, and the 2006 Ford Mustang GT!

Street racing steps up a gear in the latest offering from EA.

For the first time in a Need for Speed game you're challenged with building a crew and racing in an all-out war for your city. Risking everything, you will race against rival crews and opposing car classes to take over neighbourhoods one street at a time.

Each of your crew members have unique skills, which you can trigger during races to give you the winning edge. Call on a Blocker to create a distraction and slow down other racers or a Scout to lead you to shortcuts on the track.

As the police turn up the heat and force the races to the outskirts of the city, the battle ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories and reputations can be lost on every perilous curve.

Use your creativity to design your crew's cars with the revolutionary new Autosculpt car customisation tool, which gives you the power to turn every vehicle into the car you've always wanted.

    • Race for control of the city block-by-block by taking down rival crews on their own turf

    • The new Autosculpt car customisation tool gives you the power to design and morph your car in every way imaginable

    • Every car is tuneable so you can customize their look and performance to suit your crew

www.nintendo.com - Wii:

    The chase is on

Wii takes the cop chases and turf wars to a new level!

The battle starts on the streets of Palmont but is won in the canyons as Need for Speed: Carbon immerses you in the world's most dangerous and adrenaline-filled forms of street racing.

    Features
    • The classic Need for Speed controls and immersive gameplay experience combine with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers for a one-of-a-kind experience
    • More than 50 Muscle, Exotic and Tuner cars available for you to customize
    • Use your crew's help to win Canyon races and customize your cars using Autosculpt.

After battling for control of Palmont streets, the action shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories and reputations can be lost on every perilous curve. With captivating graphics and stunning visual effects, players will be completely immersed in a gut-check race around the canyons where more than just winning is at stake.

Carbon offers more than 50 custom rides in three distinct classes – Tuner, Exotic, and Muscle -- each with unique attributes. Muscle are best on straightaways, of which there are precious few in Palmont.

Need for Speed Carbon gives you the power to design and tweak your car in every way – including over 300 different parts – using the ground-breaking new Autosculpt technology.

As with other racing games you hold either end of the Wii Controller and tilt it to steer your car. If you'd rather not take the motion-control plunge EA thoughtfully provides five different steering configurations, including using the Nunchuk's analog stick. My advice is to forget about old school -- the Wii Remote is the way to go. How did we ever enjoy racing games before it was invented?

    Birds of a Fuel-Injected Feather

New are the three kinds of wingmen (and yes, that's what the game calls them). Scouts search for shortcuts. Blockers create distractions and slow rivals. Drafters give you a second of speed boost for every second you can stay behind them. All three also give you moral support via wireless communications.

Scouts are most useful the first few times you run a course. Drafters are of limited use on Palmont's twisting thoroughfares. Practically indespensible are Blockers, who are always willing to lay their precious paint jobs on the line so you can cross the finish line first. Now that's true friendship.
