All in all, Phantasy Star Generations 1 is a decent remake of a fantastic game. It's not breaking any new ground in gameplay innovation or beauty, but it is sure to rekindle a few old-schoolers' memories of late nights spent shooting zombies in the face with laser guns. For a solid nostalgia kick, 2500 yen isn't too much to ask, but if Sega of America expects the full fifty bones if and when North America sees the game, those who never played the original may rather hold on to their cash.
