This lion-like creature is the smallest colossus in the game, but don't be fooled by his appearance. He hits hard. Really, really hard. He is quick and merciless, and he will repeatedly ram you, knock you off, throw you into the air, and do other nasty things that will slowly kill you off, because you won't be able to move until he attacks again. Solution? Don't be on the same ground with this animal. Really, that's the only way to survive.
This battle is the most "platformer-like" in the entire game. Once you arrive into the part of the ruined city where you meet the lion, immediately jump onto the knocked-down pillar to the left. From there, jump and climb through a series of platforms onto a standing pillar. Hang on when the colossus rams it, then take out your bow and shoot at him to cause him to ram it again. The pillar will fall down, giving you access to a new set of platforms.
It's the same technique all the way through; work your way to a pillar, make the colossus ram it twice, gain access to a new area. The final pillar will destroy a wall that leads into the courtyard. Hang on, don't drop on the ground during the animation. Now run like crazy to the opposite wall, with a series of small ledges sticking out, and hope that the colossus won't kill you on the way. Jump up to that cube-like construction on top of the large platform, and make the colossus ram the supporting pillar, shooting at him with arrows. It might take a few attempts, sometimes the colossus will ram another place, just try to lure him from different angles.
When he rams the right place, a pillar will fall on his back, breaking his armor. Now run back to one of those overturned pillars, wait for the colossus to ram it, and jump on his back while he is stunned. Stab the vital spot to kill him. |
