The Good
Let me just say something before I begin the review: I HATE Spongebob. I mean, I HATE him. There aren't enough words to describe how I feel about him. That being said, the game obviously has been biased by me slightly. But I'll try my best to not bias this review.

Let me just get the good stuff out of the way. The control is... decent I suppose. On foot anyway. Driving? That's another story. But we'll get to the core of the controls later.

The graphics are very cartoony, giving a feel of the cartoon. Spongebob fans are sure to like this game's graphics. But I don't really care too much, they're just decent.

The voices are those of the cast from the show (Tom Kenny, ect.). For me, this is bad, since I find the voices to be annoying, but SB fans will probably enjoy this..."faithfulness" to the cartoon.

Well...that is all of the good stuff I can think of. But as for the bad stuff...hehehehe...

The Bad
The story, if you could even call it that, is one of the most awfully thought out stories synopsises ever and probably took like 5 seconds to come up with. The story starts with Spongebob sleeping, dreaming of how this game will garner hundreds of dollars (just kidding). Then suddenly his bed turns into a car and...the game starts...geez, this game makes Sonic's plot deep.

The gameplay mainly consists of you being both on foot and in vehicles (mostly cars). When you are on foot, it is a mediocre platformer with nothing new to offer. Driving...ugh...well, for one thing, when you turn, you slide about and it's hard to control where you go. You could easily crash if you don't focus. What kid is going to have patience for that crap?

The game also gets really repetitive really fast. First you drive alone in a time trial of sorts, then you do a platformer level, then you race against Patrick, then another platformer level, then you race against Plankton, and then there is yet ANOTHER platformer level, and...I think you get the picture.

The music is absolutely repulsive. The menu music is the worst. The first 2 or 3 seconds of it are alright, but then suddenly the band decides to play Whose Line and make up some unfitting garbage that jumps in mood and tone all over the place. The other music pieces are very forgettable.

As I said, the voice acting has the cast from the show. Well, for me, that's a problem. Tom Kenny as Spongebob is, was, and always will be annoying on the show, and is even more so here. The main reason is because the game repeats the same lines over and over and over again! This applies for every other character with voice clips. "You're becoming my best pupil", repeat, repeat, repeat.

Since I've already given my opinion on the core parts of the game, I will go over other problems with the game. One problem is the menu. I found the menu awkward to use, because if you hold down the stick, it just keeps going and you have to stop on a bubble to select it.

I also don't like how you buy extras. It is luck based, so you never know what you're getting. How cheap!

The humor is also really dry. It's dryer than than the Sahara...see? That's how bad the "humor" is. It relies heavily on jokes about speed and driving. It also has a lot of jokes in between loading times with two "commentators" making lame jokes about their wives and other crap.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line, don't buy this game unless you're a big Spongebob fan or you're giving it to a Spongebob fan. You will waste your money otherwise.
