Amazingly Detailed and Customizable Street Racer Debuts on PlayStation®2
Los Angeles, CA - May 29, 2001 - Crave Entertainment announced today the shipment of "Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero" for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. The highly-acclaimed racing franchise has made its way to the PS2, presenting car racing fans with a realistic one-on-one illegal street-race environment and an in-depth customized part list that is second to none.
"The past two 'Tokyo Xtreme Racer' games for the Dreamcast have been very successful and we are ecstatic to bring the series to PlayStation 2," said Holly Newman, Executive Vice President at Crave Entertainment. "Players will have access to a wealth of information about the different cars and their various parts. The depth of 'TXR0' is simply amazing and will provide hours upon hours of gameplay."
"Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero" duplicates the Tokyo highway system, including extensive details, from scenery to exit ramps. As players embark on a journey through the dark recesses of illegal street racing, they can modify their cars with innumerable part combinations; the game has over 100 different tire rims and colors alone! Detailed models weighing in at 4,000 poly's combine with extensive background variety and a blazing 60 frames per second to take players on an exhilarating midnight drive down the highway. Alertness pays off, as "TXR0" features all the obstacles of real world driving, including stalled motorists and traffic flares.
