Tourist Trophy: The Real Riding Simulator

It's ironic that for a Polyphony game where you see more of the actual human racers than in any other title it's done, this game feels as cold and dehumanized as ever. I guess the riders are just along for the ride. If Tourist Trophy uncovers the fourth dimension of racing, then the fifth dimension needs to be turning Polyphony's obvious passion for mechanical engineering into a passion that everyone can relate to.

Tourist Trophy feels very familiar, but at the same time it doesn't just feel like motorcycles were forced into a Gran Turismo game. The motorcycles all look and handle great, and there are plenty of events, challenges, and courses to keep you coming back for more. If you're even slightly interested in the world of motorcycles, you'll find a lot to enjoy in Tourist Trophy.

O título possui o sistema de ajuste mais detalhado entre os games de motos, mas em termos de intensidade de experiência, talvez ainda perca para a série "MotoGP" da THQ. Mesmo assim, trata-se de um dos melhores do gênero e, se tem impressão de que ainda há espaço para muitos aperfeiçoamentos, quem sabe numa eventual continuação. Os fãs de simulação e de motos provavelmente amarão o game, mas iniciantes precisarão ralar muito para poder começar a vencer as primeiras provas. Se você for perseverante, uma hora será recompensado.

There is decidedly less content in this game though - there are only road and on-track racing bikes and a limited number of courses (mostly stadium circuits with a few street circuits) and events to race in. But I think every game in existence has less content that Gran Turismo, so that’s not really a criticism. I think if a person loved bikes of the on-road, racing kind, this would be their one game to rule them all. For me, who enjoys realistic racing games as well as arcade racing games, it’s just really, really good.

Tourist Trophy is an interesting foray into the motorcycle market for Polyphony Digital but does come up a little short in areas where GT4 excelled and while it is their first bike game, PD pride themselves on producing excellent games. With one eye on GT for PS3 its easy to see why Tourist Trophy is not as good as GT4 but considering this is the game that bike fans would have been hanging out for, its a shame that it doesn't live up to its older brother.

Tourist Trophy, c’est un Gran Turismo sur deux roues. Mais pour la qualité globale, le jeu est encore loin d’être aussi bon que son modèle. Bien que le jeu fasse très fort au niveau de la réalisation, avec des graphismes et une bande son soignés, je serais tenté de dire qu’il perd beaucoup en sensations, notamment au niveau de la vitesse. De plus, le jeu est loin d’être accessible, ce qui gâche un peu l’intérêt du titre. Motards du dimanche, tournez-vous plutôt vers un Moto GP, car là il vaut mieux s’accrocher.
