Not every platforming hero is interested in saving the princess. Vexx, Acclaim's aggressive young hero, is looking for revenge, not love.

The Story So Far

Led by their cruel and cunning master, the Dark Yabu, the warlike Shadow Minions have brought havoc to the peaceful planet of Astara and enslaved its tranquil inhabitants.

Pushed to his limits, a young Astarian named Vexx fights back against his loathsome oppressors. Under the shadow of night, he stumbles across a mysterious treasure known as the Astani War Talons. Equipped with these enchanted claws, Vexx's quest to liberate his people begins.

The Heart of the Matter

With his fellow Astarians enslaved, Vexx begins his journey very much alone. To reach his final destination, Vexx must traverse nine extraordinary worlds filled with lush forests, mysterious caves, desert temples, underwater cities, frozen citadels and more.

The gateways to each new environment are all connected to a single hub. While this allows players to freely travel from one world to the next, passage does not come without a price. A number on each gate indicates the number of Wraith Hearts required to open it.

Each level has hidden hearts, which Vexx must locate and collect before accessing new levels. Thankfully, a verbal clue at the beginning of each level indicates where the heart can be found. Shaped like human hearts and even appearing to beat, the Wraith Hearts seem designed to disconcert the squeamish.

3D Obstacle Course

Of course, it wouldn't be much of a game if all you had to do was follow directions to the hearts of the matter. Your path is constantly blocked by traps, floating platforms, crafty puzzles and dubious henchmen.

Often, though, your nifty war talons will come in handy. With simple button combinations, Vexx can pull off vicious combo attacks both on the ground and in the air. Your claws are also quite effective at climbing specially marked walls that lead to secret areas.

Vexx After Hours

Acclaim features an unusual game day-and-night cycle. As light turns to dark, enemies gain aggressiveness and environmental hazards become even more dangerous. By locating special sundials, Vexx gains direct control over the time of day.

Acclaim promises a whopping 30+ hour adventure with more than 70 unique objectives.
