Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge

I could do without Winter Sports' grinding guitar soundtrack, which would be more appropriate in an "extreme sports" title. I did enjoy the lighthearted two-man commentary, especially with the dry English humor. Winter Sports offers several solo modes including the obligatory "career" mode. Fun to play and occasionally breathtaking, Winter Sports 2008 is an excellent bargain if you're into seasonal sports.

En parallèle, Winter Sports 2008 ne progresse pas, demeure très court et trop collé à ce principe de records à battre inlassablement. Il y a un public pour cela.

Winter Games 2008 is far, far better than either the price or uninspired title would lead you to believe. The extra meat found in the Campaign Mode at least gives the events a little more life, and the events themselves -- while not universally awesome -- are at least mildly fun across the board. In some cases, they can be plenty of fun in multiplayer with friends.

"RTL Winter Sports 2008" ist ein bunter Strauß voller sportlicher Eisblumen. Die Sportarten geizen nicht mit allerlei Reizen. So haben die temporeichen Wettbewerbe im Eiskanal auf der Jagd nach Zehntelsekunden und der Bestzeit Suchtpotenzial. Beim Eiskunstlauf ist Rhythmusgefühl, beim Ski Alpin Streckenkenntnis und Reaktionsvermögen gefragt. Curling lässt es ruhig angehen, Skispringen ist beinahe komplex. Auch das Drumherum ist recht stimmig, allerdings nervt das Kommentatorenduo mit unsäglichen Kalauern. Doch das abwechslungsreiche Treiben macht so richtig Lust auf die anstehende Wintersportsaison - egal ob als Aktiver oder als Liebhaber dieses "guten" Spiels.
