Even though God of War 3 has no multiplayer mode and instead focuses only on the single player campaign, the game is a definite must buy as it offers one of the most visceral gaming experiences to date. Much of the game play remains the same, so you’ll feel right at home if you’ve played the previous games. If you haven’t played them don’t worry, the in-game tutorials will get you familiar with the control schemes. The game kicks ass in every facet and offers a campaign (around nine to twelve hours depending on the difficulty) filled with breathtaking and awe inducing moments. It also looks great in high definition and more importantly is a great closing chapter to the God of War trilogy.
You can undoubtedly find little details to complain about in God of War 3 (you can't skip cut-scenes even on a second playthrough, for instance, presumably to mask load times). But given how well everything fits together, how all of the items and weapons feel useful, how the Titan fights are some of the most impressive battles ever seen in games, how the animation and camera angles make the cut-scenes better than you see in most movies, how the combat grapple works incredibly well, and how the visuals almost make it worth playing on their own, I'm not really sure how much that kind of thing matters.
Without question, God of War III sets the new gold standard for action games, clearing and then raising the near-impossible bar that was set by its previous installments. For many years to come, this will be the game by which all others in the genre are compared, and I suspect we won't see anything like it for quite some time.
While not a huge leap forward for the franchise, God of War III refines its already-fun gameplay to near-perfection while delivering the clever puzzles, high production values and pure, rage-fueled brutality fans expect. Add a memorable cast of characters and buckets of gore, and Kratos’s last adventure is also his best yet.
God of War III is an immaculate addition to the PS3 library and once again proof that Sony is committed to creating the best first-party exclusives on the market. There is not much I can criticize about the game and when I do it is mostly nitpicking. The problem with reviewing a game like this is wanting to describe all the epic moments I experienced, but again that would ruin the experience for others, and this is one experience you simply need to see for yourself. If you like action games, are a fan of God of War, or just love playing genre-defining games you have to own God of War III. It will stand out as the perfect end to one of the best action series in a long time. If it truly is the end…
If there’s one complaint to levy against this otherwise amazing game, it’s that God of War III is over too quickly. That said, I don’t feel shortchanged by the experience. Kratos is given a wonderfully epic farewell that would truly be a shame to miss, and every aspect of the game, from the controls, to the combat, to the presentation, is as close to perfect as perfect can be. Even if you’ve never played a single game in this series before, God of War III is a game you must play if you have the opportunity. You owe it to yourself, and the team at Santa Monica Studios, to play this game. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more gods to kill.
You might have worked out that I like God of War 3 a lot. A game with this much hype always has the potential to disappoint, but Sony and the team at Santa Monica Studio clearly knew what they were doing. This is a video game developed at the very highest level and takes what I thought was possible to new heights. God of War 3 is easily the best PS3 game I've played and sits comfortably as one of my favourite games of all time.

Words like “visceral” and “brutal” are used to describe many violent games these days, but they wield the fullness of their meaning in God of War III. No other terms so completely convey the gut-wrenching sensation of eviscerating a mythical beast, decapitating a deity, or carving up a titan. While moments like these have defined Kratos over the years, God of War III isn’t amazing just because it’s violent; it’s amazing because it conveys these experiences in ways you have never seen before.
When it comes to the crunch, God of War III delivers on many levels, just as the previous two titles. However with the inclusion of next-generation graphics and gameplay, God of War III transcends its predecessors with a surreal and bloody gaming experience that makes you feel like you are part of some Greek epic. Although a little top heavy with combat, it’s well justified and goes hand-in-hand with the exploration and puzzles of the title. The characters are larger than life and the story is well written and from the very first moments of the game, you’ll be immersed into this mythical battle and I’ve not had this much since the original game and of course, Bayonetta which shares some parallels. Play it now!
Kratos journey ending on the PlayStation 3 with this God of War 3 is truly epic and I'm glad he was able to go out bigger and better then ever. As you read this review and your mouth waters as you attempt to imagine all of these amazing things I have talked about, don’t worry too much cause in less then 24 hours you will be able to get your hands on this game and see for yourself what I have been talking about. This game is a definite buy I think its one of the best-looking games ever created let alone on the PS3. So go out get the game and let us help Kratos get his vengeance on Zeus and anyone else who gets in his way. Cause he will forever be the GOD OF WAR!!!!!
So what else can I say about God of War III? There probably isn't a whole lot to say to make you guys want the game any more than you already do. I can't praise this game enough for everything that it does so effortlessly. The adventure will run you about 8-10 hours, and chances are you will go back for another round with your acquired goodies in tow. God of War III is the epitome of what this generation is all about: lavish visuals, marvelous gameplay, storytelling that is unlike any other, and an overall presentation that simply cannot be beat. God of War III is an early candidate and sure fire front-runner for game of the year.
You know, outside of the minor points I made earlier, God of War III just plays like a dream; a really, really awesome dream. It's hard not to be giddy about how amazing this game, this series, has been. Makes me so happy to be a gamer.
In my own opinion I would say it’s one of the best games I’ve played this year. The experience is something you get hooked on and can’t finish until the owls are hooting and the candles are nothing more than wax puddles, as the clock says quarter after “way past your bed time”. Whilst there has been talk of more God of War titles in the franchise, one thing is for absolutely certain, the ash skinned, gravel voiced warrior we know as Kratos reaches the end of the third and final act in his own trilogy; and whatever the outcome, I will miss him.
Lens of Truth
God of War III is an amazing game all the way around; From its jaw-dropping graphics and incredible battles with the Gods, right to its core – its amazing combat and gameplay – I have never seen a game with so much polish. Sony Santa Monica has cemented themselves as one of the top developers in the business. If you don’t have a PS3, now would be the perfect time to get one. Now go help Kratos get his revenge. You’ll enjoy every second of it.
God of War 3 has had a lot to live up to. It’s one of the few titles you can put the label “system seller” on. While it is hard to match the masterpiece that is God of War 2, God of War 3 is just as incredible of a game, plus it looks stunning in HD. Kratos has become one of the icons of the PlayStation brand, and his story wraps up well here. You’ll feel like a badass the entire time, and you’ll want to replay the opening scene over and over again. If you don’t have a PlayStation 3, you’re missing out. God of War 3 is an early contender for game of the year. It’s not perfect, but you can easily look past its minor shortcomings. You need to play this game.
There's little to complain about in Kratos' swan song, but as with any game that's on its second or third sequel, there's a definite decrease in the wow factor. The term “God of War clone” gets used quite a bit these days (I'm looking at you, Dante's Inferno), but there's no greater Kratos copycat than the series' very own sequel. It is familiar, despite its amazing additions and PS3 paint job, but if you loved the previous games, this one will rank as your new favorite. That said, if the formula didn't do it for you before, then GoWIII won't convert you either. Still, it's one of the years' best titles—and possibly THE best on the PS3 to date—brought together by bar-raising production values, well-balanced gameplay, and crazy amounts of gleaming polish. If you want to show your non-gamer friends what the PS3 is capable of, pop this one in and kill a few gods in front of them.
God of War III, despite the final level's disappointing gameplay, felt immortal during every other hack-and-slash minute. Yes, Darksiders, Bayonetta and Dante’s Inferno got the jump on Kratos. However, the only overkill we found while playing was the positive, gory kind, as buckets of blood splashed on the Ghost of Sparta with every enemy horde. The red stuff even earned us our first bronze trophy of the game: Bloody Hell - Cover Kratos in 500 buckets of blood by killing the enemies.
If you have tried God of War before and didn't like it, this game isn't for you. It is not as revolutionary as it could be, and won't change your mind about the franchise. However, if you like it just a little bit, you owe it to yourself to try it out. If you know you like it, you should buy it. This is the pinnacle of the God of War franchise, and is one game that should not be missed.

God of War III is like James Cameron’s Avatar. Odd comparison, I know, but hear me out for a second. Avatar, the movie, was a technological achievement more than a triumph in storytelling. We’d all seen the story before, in movies like Pocahontas and Dances with Wolves, but it’s a tale that has stood the test of time. That’s why Avatar is still an excellent movie in spite of its weaknesses. God of War III is very similar. It’s a technical achievement more than a triumph in gameplay. There’s nothing particularly innovative or fresh about the gameplay, but it’s gameplay that has stood the test of time. That’s why God of War III is a tremendous game in spite of its shortcomings. It’s a carousel of mythological carnage that has set the bar for action games to come. It goes without saying Kratos has etched a place for the God of War franchise in the pantheon of video games.
Still, as the orchestral score soars amid a city under assault from a flaming titan, while you simultaneously disembowel a centaur as lava and masonry rains down amid the chaos - it is easy to indulge God of War III, accept its gravitas and let Kratos' last struggle immerse you. There's no doubt that number three has reached this point as the natural culmination of the previous titles in the series, and as such it doesn't attempt anything radical or daring. What it does do, however, is to provide some of the most engrossing combat and visceral action the PS3 has to offer - presented expertly. Somehow, I think things might be looking quite good for Kratos. Vengeance, after all, is everything.

God of War 3 je glamurozan. Općenito zvuk u God of Waru 3, sasvim očekivano, veliki je plus igri. Također, neke glasove su posudili i malo poznatije Hollywoodske face. Uz Lindu Hunt tu si Rip Torn u ulozi Hefesta, Malcolm McDowell u ulozi Dedala i Kevin Sorbo u ulozi Herkulesa koji očito jako voli tu ulogu. Kratos je i dalje T.C.Carson.
God of War III is a great end to Kratos' console trilogy. It's not perfect, with some uneven storytelling and progression here and there, but it's still a fantastic overall package. The combat is stellar once again, it's bloodier than ever, and it is at times the best looking game ever released. I still think God of War II is the best in the trilogy, but Sony Santa Monica did a great job closing up Kratos' journey for revenge.
God of War III has done something many deemed impossible; be better than the previous parts. This third episode takes on epic proportions, seemlessly manages to mix innovative elements with the old foundations, and can easily be put next to graphical highlights like Uncharted 2. I took on the skin of the most feared Spartan ever with great joy and revenge took us both to the downfall of the Gods. In the end there will only be Kratos.
The Video Game Critic
God of War 3 is a wild ride with almost zero filler. Leaving nothing on the table, God of War 3 serves a fitting conclusion to this extraordinary series.
At the end of the day, God of War III delivers what you'd expect, and may be reticent to admit you want: pure unadulterated violence of the epic, legendary mythological kind. It's a non-stop roller-coaster that throws you once more into the breach, dear friend. Or at least on top of a giant lady made of trees, mountains and stone. There's nothing visceral or complex in the story in say, a Mass Effect 2 kind of way, but what's here is both satisfying and compelling, if only because you know the next set-piece is going to blow you away. Beyond that, random puzzle sequences (one that includes some dog-kicking - seriously), a bit of talky, talky in story form and boobs make up the rest of what is a pure adrenalin charged experience of violence, gore and (eventual) satisfaction.
The God of War trilogy is finally over. It’s only fitting that it go out with a bang. It takes everything that made the previous game so awesome and refines it. It continues the story, but it makes the effort to give more meaning to Kratos’s journey and its eventual ending. It takes the previous established combat mechanics and makes them faster, tighter, and more fun than ever. It’s not all perfect, though. Some of the new weapons, despite having additional abilities, seem too similar to the default blades. Not all of the abilities are fully utilized, either. The puzzles are easy and brief enough that they don’t deter from the overall pacing of the game. Besides, you’ll be too busy getting your mind blown from the insanely over-the-top battles to care. This experience is what the series has been leading up to all this time, and it does not disappoint. There may not be any more Greek myths, but God of War III gives us a tale that outclasses them all.
God of War III sticks to the strengths already established by its predecessors, but what it lacks in innovation it more than makes up for in execution. The combat is simple to pick up, but the added moves and weapons give it more depth than before, and the spectacular visuals make fights even more brutal. But God of War III is so much more than its satisfying combat. The imaginative visual design and moody classical score balance your quest for vengeance with artistic pleasures, and the well-crafted puzzles further tap into your cerebral vein. God of War III is a brilliantly paced, meticulously detailed adventure that thrills and satisfies until the very end.
God of War III is a key title this year for the Playstation 3. It is geared towards those who have waged war with Kratos before but still accessible and enjoyable for those new to the franchise. The visuals sound and gore factor are stunning, though some levels and designs seem noticeably rushed or weaker. This is not epic storytelling, but it is undoubtedly action at its finest.
GoWIII is pretty much everything you'd expect from this series and nothing more. It's tough to fault the game for being a "standard God of War game" when you consider how high that standard really is. However, the improvements in design between GoWII and GoWIII aren't nearly as significant as the technical advancements. Perhaps that will change in the next game, though, as the series leaves Kratos behind. He hasn't changed with the times and Sony needs to find a new muse.
GoW III is the final act in the saga of Kratos. No loose ends are left and the entire game is epic in scope. It is a good thing that the series will be put to bed for awhile since it is impossible to fathom how GoW III could be topped. All the elements come together and form a kinetic ball that never stops until the credits roll, which makes this a compelling game without any boring moments. The combat feels the same as the rest of the games in the series even if a few upgrades were made along the way. Overall, this is a top notch production that will not disappoint in the slightest. This is a great game all around and Sony Santa Monica is wise to bring the conclusion before the series got stale.
Let’s be honest, there’s nothing innovative here. This is not a game that will convert anyone to the series that was left cold by the first two instalments. But what Santa Monica Studios has created is the most polished and visually impressive God of War title to date. Taking full advantage of the PS3 hardware, it regularly delights with its artistic style, epic scope, set pieces and enormous boss battles. Above all (and if we forget the iffy platform sections) it’s fun from beginning to end, even if you'll feel slightly ashamed for taking such enjoyment from ripping heads from shoulders.
However, any issues with the story won't get in the way of people enjoying GoWIII for what it is -- an amazing action-adventure game with beautiful graphics, smooth and satisfying combat, and brutal violence. By refining what they've done since the first GoW, Sony Santa Monica has created a befitting end to a popular trilogy. GoWIII mostly lives up to the hype and is a showpiece that PS3 owners should have in their collection. It's not perfect, but it's a satisfying experience from start to finish. Amazing to look at, fun to play and a great ending.
A fitting end to the saga of Kratos and not the end of the God of War franchise by a long shot. God of War 3 is a superbly made game that has a massive dose of quality, things to unlock to provide replay value and challenge modes that become available later on. There are outfits for you to earn and a series of difficulty levels that will challenge the most hardened God of War gamer. If you want the true experience, play it on the hardest difficulty you can. Don’t rent this one, buy it!
True Game Headz
God of War III pushes the game visually to Olympian heights on the PS3. It takes a simple battle mechanic and deepens it enough to make it more interesting. Though you can argue that perhaps it is not as enticing has the second game, you can’t deny that the level of effort put into this game is staggering. Perhaps some of the modes could have been made even better and perhaps they could have focused a little more on the issues of Kratos’s family. The death of Hades, the Titans, and the other Gods at the hands of Kratos were done for the two people that meant the most in the life, after-life, re-birth, and death(?). Humanizing Pandora was cute but it did not deal with the issue at hand nor was it trully centered around the fuel for Kratos’ hatred towards his father, Zeus, and his desire for redemption and indemnity from Lysandra (wife) and Calliope (daughter). Yet, even with all that missing, the game is entertaining and fun to play.
