Game Chronicles (Jun 05, 2008)
Other than the horrible fiasco with the graphics it is hard not to tell everyone to get this game right now. I had a lot of fun playing this game and will definitely be going back to play it again soon. I was already psyched to see the movie and after playing this game I am even more excited to see it. You will be entertained the whole time in switching from Po to the different characters of the Furious Five. This game is worth every penny and is a must have in anyone’s collection.
PGNx Media (Jun 05, 2008)
Overall, Kung Fu Panda is another well-made kid-focused licensed game from Activision. The gameplay manages to switch things up and be sufficiently challenging to engage older gamers, while keeping the core gameplay accessible to younger gamers. With solid gameplay and a great presentation, Kung Fu Panda is easy to recommend to fans of the movie or parents looking to entertain their kids with a robust yet accessible action platformer.

So here we are at the end of another movie tie-in game. Unlike so many movie games I’ve reviewed, this one works as intended and delivers on almost all fronts. While the loss of online multiplayer hurts, there is a great deal to like here. Kung Fu Panda isn’t just a beat-em-up button masher – there is a great deal of variety throughout the game that you don’t normally see in a kid’s game. While it doesn’t get everything right, Kung Fu Panda drop-kicks the notion that kids games have to suck.
GameZone (Jun 08, 2008)
This is one of the better movie-to-game conversions I have ever had the opportunity to play. Even though it is on the easy side, children and adults will enjoy the story and the various challenges that will await them.
Cheat Code Central (Jun, 2008)
Kung Fu Panda is definitely one of the better movie-inspired games I've played. The combat system as well as the puzzle-platforming style of the game work well together, and the whole game is fun to play. The game itself is not particularly memorable, but it provides a fun experience for those who enjoyed the movie. Despite its minor issues, if you are in the market for a movie-inspired game, Kung Fu Panda is a great choice and provides plenty of opportunities for children and adults to play together. Plus, who can say no to such a cute-but-deadly Kung Fu Panda?
PSX Extreme (Jun 09, 2008)
All in all, Kung Fu Panda really hits the mark. Big-time gamers know this month is all about MGS4, but for younger or more casual gamers, LuxoFlux and Activision’s product is a darn good option. Add in the fact you can play with up to four players in a multiplayer mode, and fans of the popular film will definitely get their money’s worth. It looks and sounds good, it flows well, it has enough variety so it’s not too repetitive, and anybody can pick it up and play, even though there is a decent amount of depth

While Kung Fu Panda certainly isn't breaking new ground, it's inspiring to know that studios are still capable of doing quality work in the well-worn platforming genre.
EL33TONLINE (Jul 04, 2008)
All in all Kung Fu Panda breathes new life into the movie tie-in genre, is visually stunning, fantastically engaging and quite honestly a bodacious time to spend a couple of hours.
TotalPlayStation (Jun 25, 2008)
Kung Fu Panda just shows that some keen design self-restrictions, a willingness to mix things up and an approach to visuals and sound that roundly reject the idea that they have to be pared down just because they're a kids game. The game feels like it was a labor of love, and in the end it delivers a short-but-sweet little adventure that does both the movie and the target audience justice. Nice work, guys.
HonestGamers (Jun 07, 2008)
Kung Fu Panda isn't a masterpiece, but it's a lot better than many people have come to expect from license-based games. Don't mistake it for a substanceless cash-in. It isn't one.
Gamernode (Jun 22, 2008)
Kung Fu Panda is a fun game that shows very good attention to level design and creative game making. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this one folks because it will appeal to a wide audience.

GamingExcellence (Aug 19, 2008)
The only thing that is better than a good game, is a game that everyone expects will be bad, and turns out to be pretty good after all. Kung Fu Panda is such a game, which offers a fun, easy going experience coupled with some action, some platforming, and even a few role-playing elements. If you can forgive its short length and rather easy difficulty, and just want to play a quick, accessible game, than Kung Fu Panda won’t disappoint.
Game Vortex (Jun, 2008)
As far as licensed games go, Kung Fu Panda is a solid title. While it doesn't do much to break out of the mold, it manages to find its center and present a game that is engaging, though only for a short time. It won't win over many players over 13, although it does fill the PS3's need for good, kid-friendly games.
Gameswelt (Jul 11, 2008)

If the movie is indeed guilty of being too predictable, the game never really breaks away from its traditional cartoon-brawler shell either. But here's where the game's criticism differs from the film's: The lack of variety is actually a good thing. In an area of game development where being overly ambitious can destroy you, developer Luxoflux has instead created a smart, focused, and (most importantly) polished effort that should delight young fans of the film. When I turned on Kung Fu Panda and first heard the droning voice of the awful Jack Black soundalike who does the narration, I expected a low-budget rip-off of the movie; in actuality, the game is an entertaining experience in its own right.
Kung Fu Panda is not a game for every gamer out there. Older gamers are going to have a hard time getting around the fact that the game is just too simple. This however is not the game's problem; the game is obviously thriving for the young generation’s attention with this one. Even though King Fu Panda will not be taking a whole lot of time to complete, picking it up for a young gamer just might turn around this hot summer for him/her. After all there is only so much those air conditioners can do!
IGN (Jun 09, 2008)
Kung Fu Panda is a brief romp, but one that will keep young gamers interested from start to finish. Heck, maybe they’ll even play through it a second or third time. Just remember, the title won’t do much for anybody that would consider themselves a regular gamer. If you happen to have a young child, niece or nephew that liked the movie, give this a rent or a purchase. They’ll thank you later.
Game Freaks 365 (Jun, 2008)
I have to say that as much as I tend to loathe licensed movie games, Kung Fu Panda is quite a decent platformer. It won't win any awards, but it gets the job done nicely and is sure to entertain lots of kids who get home from watching the movie. The fact that a parent could get involved and play in multi-player is even better family fun. Still, Kung Fu Panda is not for everyone. I found it to be overly easy. Anyone over the age of 12 or 13 will probably find a game like Ratchet & Clank to be far more suitable. If you have children, though, this is a great game for them and you to play together.
It's rare for a movie tie-in game to keep me entertained throughout its duration; it's even rarer for one to evoke in me a desire to see a film I'd previously shrugged off. But Kung Fu Panda managed to accomplish both. The game's only major flaw is it's length - the single-player can be completed in a paltry four to six hours - but still, it's definitely worth purchasing for the kids.

GameDaily (Jun 06, 2008)
If you're more of a hardcore player, you might want to set Kung Fu Panda aside in favor of something meatier, such as Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden II. However, this Panda fits the bill. The presentation is better than previous licensed Activision fare (especially with whoever did Black's voice -- very awesome), the gameplay satisfies and the unlockable content will keep you busy. Ski-doosh!

A simple, fun and well designed game, Kung Fu Panda doesn't offer the deepest narrative or most though-provoking gameplay for the more mature audiences; it's more of a guilty pleasure. Though, for the young gamer, it's perfect, and at $10 less than other, even worse, PS3 titles, it's hard to argue with competent level direction and a pretty good multiplayer component. Though, if you're trying to decide on which version to pick up (PS3 or 360), you might want to stick with the Xbox option for sake of better technical gameplay and Achievements--if you really, really want to add to your Gamerscore and play it more than once.
