Description
In a planet called Conceyta a mysterious virus manifested itself, a virus capable of infecting both life forms and technology alike and turning them into chaotic forces fighting each other and spreading the epidemic.
A group of uninfected civilians, mercenaries and soldiers from Earth take the mission to destroy the core of the virus back in Conceyta, and develop a deadly and agile star fighter - "Söldner-X".
A mercenary looking for fame and money takes the mission to pilot Söldner-X.
Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer is a traditional horizontally scrolling space shooter that spreads over 12 levels in 4 areas, where you take on various aircraft and mutated organic creatures.
The game can be played alone or as a 2-player co-op mode.
There are 5 types of weapons available: pulse, beam, bow, flame and rocket, each upgradeable. When a weapon is used a coolness bar starts going down, once it reaches 0% the weapon is too hot to be used.
Each area has secret keys, collecting at least 4 keys from an area unlocks secret features.
The PS3 version offers 720p high definition graphics.
The windows version is currently only available as a Limited Edition. Only 3,000 units exist of this version and besides the game it also includes:
- Serial numbered Certificate of Purchase
- Official Soundtrack by Rafael Dyll including two previously unreleased tracks
- Hardcover "Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer - Tactical Reference Book" with detailed information about each ship, enemy, weapon and item the player will encounter
