The Golden Compass

My husband just finished listening to the unabridged audio books of the His Dark Materials trilogy. Although the characters are basically the same, the game doesn't sound like it follows the story.

The books are excellent, btw.

The game, on the other hand, was slaughtered by the reviewers.

The game is more based on the movie than on the book, indeed. I've read the books to prepare myself for a review of the game, but it didn't help much. ;)
