Xbox 360RetroManiac (Dec, 2011)
SEGA SaturnVideo Games (Aug, 1998)
SEGA SaturnLens of Truth (Sep 18, 2009)
This masterpiece has it all – fantastic visuals, wonderful music, and most importantly, addictive innovative gameplay. The 7 button layout is tailor-made for the Saturn as are the game’s special effects and speed, which would easily melt “other” home consoles at the time. For those who haven’t played RS, there’s always hope for a release on XBLA or PSN, as this one is a little pricey (around $200). Then again, all the cornerstones of the Saturn’s library are expensive, and this is the greatest shooting game of all time. Having not played Radiant Silvergun in a while, I was happy to see it leave me in the same state it did a decade ago – with my jaw on the floor.

It won’t be easy, but then things rarely are in a world as deadly as the one found here That’s not to say the game is unfairly difficult, but it certainly won’t ever leave you bored. What with the variety of weapons and bosses, not to mention the beautiful aesthetics and stylish presentation, you’re unlikely to find a better shooter.

Why was this game never released in the states? Why hasn't this been ported to a current-gen console? How can such a great title go ignored? Highly recommended. Start saving up your cash NOW.
SEGA (GAF) (Apr 14, 2003)
Treasure made sure that you had more than enough reasons to play Silvergun even after you've beaten it several times over. The mix of extra options, level gaining, and huge levels and bosses, make Radiant Silvergun a title worth owning.

Will you like Radiant Silvergun? Well, first ask yourself a question: "Do I like shooter type games?" If you answer yes, sometimes, or "I like a few," then you should give Radiant a try. If I had to pick a game for "Best Shooter of All Time" Radiant would be it. Play it and you'll understand.
SEGA SaturnShin Force (Nov 18, 1999)
Impressive, impressive, impressive. The biggest, hardest and best shooter ever made.... and, of course it's a Saturn exclusive!!.
SEGA (Mar 09, 2002)
SEGA SaturnRPGFan (Aug 09, 1998)
All in all, Radiant Silvergun is a very difficult shooter, and one that may frustrate novices. However, anyone who likes shooters at all should pick this one up without hesitation; it's the best game of its genre that I've ever seen.
SEGA SaturnShin Force (Jul 24, 1998)
Beautiful graphics, exact control, cool sound, nonstop action, vertigo inducing movement and Saturn quality, all courtesy of Treasure. I'd have to say it's the best shooter so far on Sega Saturn... and possibly any 32/64-bit console!
SEGA SaturnDefunct Games (Jun 25, 2005)
You'll have noticed the large fanfare that accompanies any mention of Ikaruga around the Defunct Games site, and that excitement is certainly not unfounded, but to be honest Radiant Silvergun deserves equal acclaim.
Xbox 360IGN (Sep 13, 2011)
Radiant Silvergun has a lot to offer: you can play it like a manic shooter and enjoy the weapons and skillful dodging, or you can make it more cerebral and go for the ridiculous color combos. Either way, you're getting one of the very best 2D shooters ever made. This is one of those games that slowly reveals more and more of itself to you through repetition. Put in the time, and it will make you feel like a badass.
SEGA SaturnRetroguiden (Jan 20, 2011)
SEGA SaturnDigital Press - Classic Video Games (Dec 10, 2003)
Radiant Silvergun is one of the best games for the Saturn, and one of the best shooters that's out there. If you're willing to pay the high prices that people charge for it, or if you're lucky enough to find a copy on the cheap side, I'd definitely recommend picking it up, as you probably won't be disappointed.
SEGA SaturnGameSpot (Sep 08, 1998)
This game is an absolute must-buy. Never has a shooter combined relentless, thoughtfully-designed action with such stunning graphics and sound. Mix in a moving storyline with exceptionally well-done voice acting (in Japanese) and beautiful real-time cutscenes, and you've got a shooter experience unmatched by any that have come before. Few games stay with you after you've turned the system off, but Silvergun does, and it's more powerful for it. The game has a polish and finesse worthy of a Ferrari, complete with a trunkful of secrets that only the best will discover. The true beauty of the game only reveals itself after numerous repeated plays. With an addictive gameplay, and the necessary incentives to keep you coming back, Radiant Silvergun makes you feel as if you've never really played a shooter before. It's a whole new experience.
Xbox (Sep 18, 2011)
Radiant Silvergun is a fantastic game that should appeal to a wide audience. Shooting enemy ships with crazy guns creating crazy explosions is fun at the most basic level. The action is fast paced and your heart will race as you dodge waves of enemy bullets that seemingly fill up an entire screen. Put some time into honing your skills and you will be rewarded with one hell of a satisfying experience. Don’t let the difficulty scare you off, Radiant Silvergun is a cult classic for a reason. Check this game out.
Xbox (Sep 20, 2011)
SEGA SaturnThe Video Game Critic (Aug 04, 2004)
To call Radiant Silvergun a highly regarded shooter would be an understatement. This Japanese import is has attained near-legendary status among Saturn enthusiasts. The game boasts extremely high production values, and the face that it wasn't released in the states is a travesty. But while Radiant Silvergun may be the best shooter for the Saturn, that's really not saying a whole lot if you don't count Japanese releases.
Xbox 360Gameplay (Benelux) (Oct 28, 2011)
