1001 Video Games
The Arcade and Saturn versions of Radiant Silvergun
appear in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die
by General Editor Tony Mott.
The game was originally set for development at the Japanese branch of Time Warner Interactive
. However, when TWI closed down shortly after the release of Shinrei Jusatsushi Tarōmaru
, director Hiroshi Iuchi
returned to former employer Treasure, where development was restarted and the game was finally produced.
The rarity of this game is such, that "new" copies of the game sell for $500 US at the Play Asia online retailer. Similarly, 2nd hand copies are rarely less than $200 on e-bay.
