RC Cars

R.C. Cars is a fast-paced arcade-style racing game in which players control realistically modeled radio-controlled cars. The game consists of 10 challenging tracks spread across three different locations. Players race against AI opponents in the championship mode and single exhibition runs or take on the clock in time trials. Drivers can also select from three different types of cars, possessing unique features, each modifiable with upgrades acquired while racing.

RC Cars offers up a nice platter of fun gameplay and great graphics for a very low price. The game does have a few problems, like unforgiving handling and some pretty frustrating single player elements. However, the game is entertaining overall and should provide hours of good racing.

RC Cars does so much right, but it stumbles badly here, in a fundamental aspect of gameplay that turns out to be a real buzz kill. That and having to retrace your steps to a potentially distant waypoint when you're forced to reset your car. It wouldn't be so bad if these two negatives weren't intertwined. Together, they bring down the notch from "Great" to "Pretty Good."

RC Cars est typiquement le genre de jeu qu'on ne peut pas regretter d'avoir acheté. Pas cher (20 euros), fun en solo, rigolo en multi, la réalisation est simple et efficace, tout pour faire oublier le léger manque de variété des circuits et le faible nombre de voitures.

There aren’t that many games that I feel comfortable playing with my son. At age 4, sitting down to a good session of Grand Theft Auto or C&C Generals just isn’t in the cards. It came as a surprise to me that RC Cars is one of the games that even kids can play – don’t let the bikini-clad cover model fool you.

For what it is, RC Cars isn't a bad game. However, the distinct lack of features, compared to Creat's previous RC racing title, is a pretty big disappointment. There's just not much here beyond the scant few single- and two-player modes and the currently vacant online mode. While the game is still certainly fun to play, these modes aren't enough to keep you entertained for very long. If you've got a serious itch to race some RC Cars on your PC, then the game is worth checking out, but barring any serious itches, you're likely better off looking elsewhere.

Zwar ist die Verfolgerkamera übersichtlicher als etwa beim ähnlichen Big Scale Racing. Dennoch bremsen die übernervöse Steuerung und das gewöhnungsbedürftige Fahrmodell (lässt den Boliden zu oft bei Sprüngen um die Achse drehen) den Arcade-Spaß.

Badestrand statt Hockenheimring: Mit Funkflitzern brettern Sie durch Campingplätze, Farmen und Militärbasen. Hunde, Fußgänger oder Soldaten versuchen, Sie von der Strecke zu befördern. Grafik, Gegner-KI und Fahrphysik verlieren sich im Rennspiel-Niemandsland.

Dans la mouvance des jeux bénéficiant d'un prix relativement bas et souvent d'une réalisation et d'un intérêt plus que compromis, RC Cars fait un peu figure de miraculé. Certes accablé de défauts majeurs et pour la plupart fort dommageables, ce titre sans prétention parvient néanmoins à procurer, une fois un véhicule convenable en main, d'agréables sensations d'amusement. Loin d'être un bon choix, il n'en reste pas moins une alternative plausible pour ceux désirant un petit divertissement entre deux softs prenants, ou tout simplement les nostalgiques de Re-volt. Souhaitons qu'il ouvre la voie à un enrichissement des productions minoritaires.
