Redneck Rampage contains some adult type language (just a little swearin' is all) and is recommended for mature audiences only. So if yer a parent, ya might wanna check 'em out first 'fore ya let the kids take a poke at it. The full version has a parental lock for the adult language.
On September 30, 1997, Redneck Rampage was put on the infamous German index by the BPjS. For more information about what this means and to see a list of games sharing the same fate, take a look here: BPjS/BPjM indexed games.
This game normally works fine under a Windows operated DOS shell, right until you reach the game's final boss. At that point the game WILL crash back to the desktop with an error message. If you want to fight the final boss and see the ending, you'll have to play the game under pure DOS.
Playing the game under Windows operated DOS shell will also make impossible to finish 'Ruins' level (ep.2, lvl.4). Last door will not open unless you play that level in pure DOS.
Redneck Rampage is worth rescuing from the bum bin for the 8 song hoot & Holler soundtrack (that can be played in any standard CD player)
- Mojo Nixon - UFOs Big Rigs & BBQ
- The Beat Farmers - Baby's Liquored Up
- The Reverend Horton Heat - Nurture My Pig
- Cement Pond - Trash Can
- The Beat Farmers - Gettin' Drunk
- The Reverend Horton Heat - Wiggle Stick
- Cement Pond - Vixen
- Mojo Nixon - You Can't Kill Me
The game's manual comes in the form of a "newspaper" with various humor articles parodying tabloid reporting and small town life in general.
I don't know much about guns, but I think I read somewhere that the .454 casull only has room for 5 rounds in the chamber since the bullets are so large. However in the game the casull shoots six shots before reloading just like your typical revolver pistol.
