Description

Scarlet Blade is a MMORPG set in a post-apocalyptic world where Arkana, adaptative semi-nude female warriors created by "Mother", fight for the dawn of a new era. The Arkana are separate into two factions: the Royal Guards, who want to free the Neo-Humans and consider themselves merely as tools for Mother, and the Free Knights, rebels who want to be freed of Mother's control and be considered as equals to the Neo-Human.

In this game, the character takes the role of a commander, who is in charge of directing an Arkana through her missions. The first step in creating a new Arkana is to choose a faction. By picking a faction, the player will be an enemy or a rival to players from the opposite faction. Six different classes are available: Defender, Shadow Warrior, Whipper, Punisher, Sentinel and Medic. Each class has its own range of skills to use in battle. The Arkana start in their faction's headquarter and, after a few tutorial missions, head up into the outside world. A relationship between the commander (the player) and the Arkana is developed in the story, as the Arkana will often talk to him (the commander is always considered male) during quests.

As in other RPG's, the characters level-up by gaining experience points and acquired new skills and equipment along the way. Upon reaching level 17, the Arkana gains the ability to transform into a large mechanical battle frame (mech-mode). In this mode, their stats are approximately doubled. When certain levels are reached, puzzles are available to complete, to eventually form an image of a pin-up Arkana. There are different images to collect.
