Specially marked game boxes included a free "Willy Beamish" LCD watch offer by sending in coupon and warranty cards. Actually a hand watch, depicting "Willy Beamish" face in the center of a circle surrounding the game title, and "Horny" frog paw prints respresenting the hours and placed in-between the numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.

The original game had a real wirebound notebook (32 sheets/college ruled, approx. size 8x5in/20.3x12.7cm) in crude child writing as it’s manual. Installation instructions were printed on the back of pinkish A4 sized "Pizzarama!" pizza menu (as visited in the game) complete with main course, beverages, on the side, desserts and prices. The later CD-ROM booklet reproduced notebook pages as b/w within a larger ringbinder, and CD-ROM installation instructions, omitting 'pizza menu'.

There are many parts of the game that are obviously inspired by The Simpsons. For example the TV-commercials for Slam Dunk Cola (Duff Beer).
"The Horny Toad" is an X-rated club in Springfield (on The Simpsons), and can be seen in the episode "Last Exit to Springfield" from the fourth season, and possibly earlier episodes as well. The name of Willy Beamish pet frog is Horny.
At one point there were plans for a sequel which would have featured Willy as a teenager.
Adventures of Willy Beamish was also released on CD (in addition to the disk version) featuring full speech.
