Jurassic Park is high-quality stuff. The game design is refreshing, the graphics and sound push the Sega CD to it's limits and the puzzles range from simple to so frustrating that you'll strangle your cat. Heed my words, O Mighty Reader: Grab yourself a copy of Jurassic Park and have yourself some fun.

Jurassic Park CD isn't a bad choice for any adventure gamer. If you really love adventure games, you know well that you can never have enough (they're not quite as replayable as other genres), and this one will fill your needs nicely.

What's more surprising? The fact that Sega didn't simply port their paultry side scrolling Genesis version of Jurassic Park to the Sega CD, or that this is actually a good game?

A graphic adventure instead of an action game, it takes place after the movie - you're back in the park to recover dinosaur eggs for future study. A good game, but kinda short.

Jurassic Park CD is a great example of what the Sega CD could do in order to change the way we play games, and what sort of new technology it could bring to the game playing experience. The graphics and sound really make it feel like you are on the island, and combined with the first person interface, this was a great way for developers to show what the Sega CD could do. It takes a little bit to get an idea of the layout of the island, and you'll probably be killed by dinosaurs a few times before you even get any eggs. Even so, this is one game that is going to have players exploring the island for quite some time, so what are you waiting for? This is one adventure worth facing down a T-Rex for!

There's a Sega CD game (Sega) that moves at too leisurely a pace to satisfy action fans, though it has some admirable features, such as scholarly dissertations on various breeds of dinosaur.

It’s cold and lonely here in Jurassic Park. While I wait for a rescue that will never come, I think of things. Like how cool Jurassic park was in 1993, and how badly it sucks now. How I can’t believe people spent $300 on the Sega CD (coincidently enough, right around 1993) and how pissed they must have been a few months later, when all they had to chose from was garbage like this and Corpse Killer. How nobody has been able to make a good Jurassic Park game with such an awesome and solid premise already in place. How I seem to have an ass-load of crappy point-and-click games in my Sega CD library, and how I don’t remember buying them.

The scenery is strictly Genesis quality, and the pathways between areas all look the same after a while, making it easy to get lost. Even the educational aspect is weak. When you consult the Paleontologist about a specific dinosaur, he says one lousy sentence. As for the "sense-boggling" Q-Sound the game box raves about, well, I didn't even notice it. I'll give Sega credit for trying something different, but Jurassic Park for the Sega CD lacks the thrills and excitement of its namesake.
