O objetivo aqui é atravessar uma área cheia de perigos e capturar as três naves mãe inimigas, pertencentes às Forças Imperiais da Estrela. Uma boa dica é sempre mirar primeiro nas laterais e depois no meio das naves.

The gameplay is good though. The enemies come in all shapes and sizes and there's never a dull moment. The bosses are large but static; they simply float side to side while dropping bombs on you. The repetitious background music got on my nerves. The best aspect of this game is the power-ups. In the first stage, you can accumulate a great deal of firepower, and this can carry you a long way. Unfortunately, once you die, it's back to the weak single-shots, and after the first level the power-ups are few and far between.

Overall, I think I have to take back what I said in the opening, after making all of my considerations. Astro Warrior is really a poorly done game, though it does have some decent features. However, said features do not really do anything to make it better in the essential gameplay and creativity departments, so I have to end on a rather sad note. It's really strange that Sega decided to release this separately because it's not too bad if considered with another game on the same cartridge since you can easily switch games without putting another one in, but alone it's hardly worth anyone's time. Even further, around the same time they would release Power Strike, but only made it a mail order in the NTSC market. Why, I don't know, but they did and most gamers were left with this to tend to. What a sad Christmas, Birthday, Halloween, Easter or whatever.

Overall, Astro Warrior isn’t that great, in fact, it’s not even good. The game play is flawed, the enemies are boring, and the level design is uninspired. The catchy music does help, but not enough to matter. Fans of the genre will likely get some enjoyment out of the title, but for everyone else, don’t even bother.
