Any spare time is carried forward to the next stage and you score for bikers passed. This is a must for anybody into racing games. Check it out.
On the other hand, Hang On does manage to get a lot right. The game is easy to control and good looking (for a first generation Master System game). It's a little tough, but after you get the hang of it you'll be zipping through the levels in no time. It doesn't offer much more than the original arcade experience - no extra modes, no multiplayer modes - but that should be enough to warrant some of your time. It's not the best motorcycle game on the market, but you'll be hard pressed to do much better on the Master System.
L'effet de vitesse est bien rendu, les décors sont dépouillés, mais le graphisme est de très bonne qualité, il est même supérieur aux logiciels concurrents testés dans ce magazine. Le son, sans égaler celui de la plupart des jeux SEGA, reste très réaliste. HANG ON, comme SUPER CYCLE sur Atari, apparait plus comme un très bon jeu d'arcade plutôt qu'une stricte simulation sportive.
Hang-On for the Master System would eventually be packaged in several compilation carts with other minor Sega games like Astro Warrior and Safari Hunt, and in some cases, placed into the system’s hardware. While the Master System version is a serviceable port, Hang-On II is the best version of Hang-On either system could have received. While the graphics lack the eye-bursting color and detail of the arcade and Master System versions, the SG-1000 makes up for that with surprisingly decent scrolling and top-notch controls. Sega may have started to move on to the Mark III by the time of Hang-On II‘s release, but cheers to them for putting the time and effort into a solid port for the oft-neglected SG-1000 owners out there.
There are some tiny background graphics on the horizon, but there's not much on the side of the road except for some bushes and rocks. Each course has several stages which abruptly change the background and color. The first few stages are fairly plain, and the last two look just awful. There's a pathetic "city night" stage with miniature streetlights and buildings that never get closer, and the final stage is just like the first, except everything is orange! What the? There are three skills levels to keep the game challenging. Despite some unimpressive graphics, Hang On provides some decent racing action.

Questo Hang On ha dalla sua una buona sensazione di velocità e un'ottima fluidità. A parte questo, complice anche il fatto che l'intero gioco occupa pochi Kbyte, è una produzione davvero povera. Se siete disposti a vedere la vostra moto esplodere al minimo contatto anche mentre un avversario vi supera e non avete grosse pretese, provatelo, potrebbe piacervi.
Overall, Hang-On is an average game. The graphics are basic, and the sound is borderline annoying. I’m not sure how faithful the game play is to the original arcade title, but there is some fun to be had here. The twitchy arcade style game play is oddly addicting. If you own a Sega Master System, chances are you already own this game, give it a try.
Ora se uniamo questo, al fatto che il gioco non propone altre modalità di gioco ne sistemi di upgrade della nostra moto, si conclude che, purtroppo, questa versione di Hang On è, secondo il parere di chi scrive, NON sufficiente.
Hang On isn't a total failure, just a general disappointment coming from a company that was trying to hype up their status in the console market. They could have pulled it off from the beginning, and did in Brazil, but what they didn't do was think through certain games before releasing them, this one included. They had to strip away so much of the original that there's essentially no reason you would have really wanted to pay for it, cheap or not, when you could spend a quarter now and then to sit on what felt like an actual motorcycle. They needed to launch the SMS with a powerful library, but instead they left players short in several cases. If you really care, this game was first released in card format and is exceptionally rare in the box, because it was usually the pack-in game with PAL systems for awhile. The separate card release is difficult to find, and perhaps the only reason I really own this game other than the fact that I'm a freak.

La réalisation est honorable et faire la course se révèle accrocheur au départ, on pourrait parler de classique préhistorique. Seulement, en 1988, lorsque le jeu était vendu intégré avec la console, ce n'était déjà plus la préhistoire des jeux vidéo. Sega se moquait un peu du monde de ressortir un principe si archaïque, mais finalement c'est peut-être ce mouvement dénué d'audace qui aura évité au jeu de tomber aux oubliettes. Comme quoi...
I still enjoy playing Hang On, although I normally only play through one loop of action before switching it off, whereas before I would play the loops until my eyes started to get tired, and tear up. I've got more and better games now, so spending that much time with a game this repetitive and limited doesn't make any earthly sense. But spending a little time feels right. Not for old time's sake alone, but because Hang On is a fast paced challenge of coordination that is simple and easy to get into. It provides a fleeting experience, but it's so simple and charming and unpretentious that you will leave each session satisfied with the fun, fast times you had with it.
