Wonder Boy is without a doubt one of the best games for the Master System. Three excellent sequels followed, which I will be reviewing in the future. They're totally different than this particular game, but it's still a lot of fun to play an old title like this and find it just as good as when you remember picking it up at the store. Plus, it's one of the best games to use to compare and contrast the abilities of the SMS and NES, the former winning out this time. If you have a Master System and don't own this game, make a point to get it as soon as possible. It is easily in the top ten.

Wonder Boy is a good action game for the Master System, and should provide at least a few days of colourful platformer fun—especially if you're an Adventure Island fan.

- salvar a namorada seqüestrada.

I suppose Sega should get some points for giving Master System owners an arcade perfect port of Wonder Boy, but with uninspired level designs, terrible controls, and dull power ups, this just isn't one adventure most people want to relive. Master System owners looking for a 2D platformer in the same vein as Super Mario Bros. need look elsewhere... this isn't even close.

The bright, tropical graphics are inviting enough, but the repetitive "happy" tunes will really get on your nerves. The controls are poorly designed. There's a jump button and a throw button, and pressing both lets you jump extra high. Unfortunately, the "normal" jump is totally useless, so you're forced to spend the whole game mashing both buttons at the same time - pretty lame. On the bright side, the skateboard sequences do pick up the pace of the game, and there are frequent checkpoints and unlimited continues. But let's face it - there's nothing here that distinguishes Wonder Boy from any other generic side-scroller.
