Digital Extremes
This is the best sports game I have played on any system period. It is also one of the best Saturn games to appear in 1997. As such, it is worth a serious look by any Saturn owner. If you know that you like sports video games, then I would not waste any time at all - go out and get this title. You will not be sorry.

Game Players
You know, it doesn't matter if you think the soccer highlights of ESPN are the perfect time to get a beer or if you often wonder why those crazy Europeans kick around that volleyball. Worldwide Soccer '97 has to be recognized as one of the best sports games of all time.

Hobby Consolas

Worldwide '97 rewards the Saturn faithful with a great sports game that would be a standout on any system. The great gameplay and graphics make Worldwide '97 accessible to soccer diehards and novices alike. Go for the goal!

Defunct Games
Sega Worldwide Soccer '97 came to me as a surprise; the Saturn finally has a good soccer game. The game isn't officially licensed, so there are no official player names or jerseys. It also isn't possible to play with club teams - you can only play with the squads of different countries. You can import the player names yourself since it's possible to edit the names, but I don't really see the point of that (and it's a lot of unneeded work).

Game Revolution
In closing, Worldwide Soccer '97 is an excellent soccer game that everyone should enjoy immensely. The only things that would make this game better is the inclusion of the actual players, more stadiums, and just more options. Sports fans looking for a good soccer game for the Saturn should snatch this one off the shelves.

Edge
It is very rare that you can judge the quality of a football game at first glance: they hardly ever look absolutely terrible or absolutely stunning. It is the subtleties which separate them and it is the subtleties of World Wide Soccer which place it amongst the premier footy sims, rather than leave it floundering in some soccer game no-man’s land.

GameSpot
Sega's Worldwide Soccer '97 may be the best soccer game ever released. EA Sports once dominated the sport with their brilliant FIFA series. Worldwide Soccer appeared last year with the introduction of the Saturn but suffered from poor gameplay and substandard graphics. Worldwide Soccer '97 claims its spot at the top of the genre with terrific gameplay, slick polygon-based 3D players, and a level of realism that easily supercedes that of its predecessors.
