Description

You are a normal college student who lives in modern-day Japan. One day your life was saved by a strange person who calls himself "The Devil Summoner". Due to some unforseen events, your soul gets transported into his body. Now you must use your new powers in order to save the life of your girlfriend.

"Devil Summoner" continues the tradition of Shin Megami Tensei series being a modern-day/sci-fi RPG with an emphasis on dungeon crawling. You can avoid fighting monsters by talking to them, and are even able to recruit them into your party. In addition, "Devil Summoner" introduces a "loyalty" system. Newly recruited demons have various degrees of loyalty, and might even disobey your orders in battles if the loyalty level is too low.

Alternate Titles

  • "真女神转生:恶魔召唤师" -- Chinese title (simplified)
  • "真・女神転生デビルサマナー" -- Japanese spelling
  • "Shin Megami Tensei: Akuma Zensho" -- Original Japanese title

Trivia

The PSP version adds new features to the game that were absent in the Saturn original. There is now a new difficulty level (lower than the original, which was quite high). Also, in the original the only place where you could save your game was your office; if you wanted to save somewhere else, you could do it by using a special item, but you could only carry one such item at a time. In the PSP port, you can save anywhere you want.
