Description

Seven Minutes is a 2D platformer with an unusual premise. The player starts in a room and encounters a glowing orb. Upon touching it, a giant head appears and announces that the player has only seven minutes to live. What would you do in your last seven minutes in life?

Controlling a small, block-like human, the player only moves and jumps using the arrow keys. The goal is to try to escape the different rooms under the time limit. The player will encounter different puzzles in the rooms: in some the correct path is not visible, others require precise jumping etc. Many contain deadly traps, much like Punishment, but there is an endless amount of life as long as the clock is still ticking. Progressing through the game, the rooms get stranger and harder to solve.

The only threats are the deadly spikes and of course the time limit. Upon death, the player respawns at the beginning of the scene and time is deducted from the counter. While playing, the giant head constantly taunts the player, omniscient about all the traps and the player's death, pondering fatalistic thoughts such as "I wonder what it feels like to die alone." and "Sometimes all the roads lead us astray." The game has a very aggressive atmosphere, not only because of the giant head, but also through fast rave-like music and flashing images. Depending on the player's choices, the game has two different endings, immediately shutting down the game afterwards, no matter the outcome.
