Was driving in the car and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings came on -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izQsgE0L450 -- and I couldn't help but hear echoes of a parallel passage from Columns' distinctive soundtrack. Am I crazy?

Not sure, but Clotho definitely sounds like it could have been inspired by Adagio for Strings.
Both wonderful pieces of music in any case. :)
