Shellshock: Nam '67 was named #4 Worst Game of the Year in the 14th Annual Computer Game Awards issue of Computer Games Magazine (March 2005).

On September 18, 2004, Shellshock: Nam '67 (Windows) was put on the infamous German index by the BPjM. The PS2 version followed November 30, 2004 (in addition on that day, the indexing of the Windows version was confirmed). And since June 30, 2005, with the addition of the Xbox version, all three platforms are on the index.
