Rollercoaster Tycoon fans moeten Theme Park World gaan spelen. Dat geldt trouwens voor alle sim- en pretparkliefhebbers. Wat is er nu leuker dan je eigen attraktie ontwerpen en er vervolgens als bezoekertje in gaan zitten?

Theme Park World es uno de los juegos de estrategia más interesantes del catálogo de PSOne. La gran cantidad de opciones, la profundidad de su mecánica, la fuerte personalidad de los parques, su gran adictividad y lo variado de su desarrollo son sus mejores alicientes. Eso sí, hay que tener en cuenta que este tipo de estrategia es un género más "pausado", que no gusta a todos los jugones. Salvando este detalle y lo limitado de sus apartados técnicos, sin duda se trata de un título muy a tener en cuenta, aún sin estar en la parte más destacada y conocida del amplio catálogo de PSOne.

Bottom line, SimTheme Park is just plain fun. From kiddie rides to sprawling, terrifying roller coasters, this game will provide countless hours of gaming pleasure. In closing, SimTheme Park is more fun than a knife-wielding monkey on speed.

Ondanks de kleine opgesomde minpuntjes is TPW een echte aanrader. De lange winteravonden zullen met dit spel plots heel kort lijken. Peter Molyneux mag dan al Bullfrog verlaten hebben, kennelijk weten ze er nog heel goed wat ze aan het doen zijn.

Schmutzfink im Park - stellt mehr Reinigungskräfte ein. Die Besucher verhungern - sorgt für Pommes- und Getränke-Buden. Als Parkchef hat man es aber auch wirklich nicht leicht. Ständig unter Hochspannung, kaum bleibt euch Zeit, die selbst erbauten Fahrgeschäfte mal auszuprobieren. Doch ihr solltet euch die Freizeit nehmen: Schwingt in der Affenschaukel oder brettert rasant über die neu verlegten Lorenschienen. Die Umsetzung ist dabei genauso genial wie das Konzept. Wunderschön präsentieren sich die verschiedenen Szenarien jeweils mit anderen Fahrgeschäften, Buden und Souvenirläden - Realismus pur! Nachdem die optisch verschiedenen Themenparks jedoch erkundet sind, hängt die Dauermotivation etwas durch. Ihr müsst euch schon aufraffen, um ein neues Areal abermals zu besiedeln. Nichtsdestotrotz: Theme Park World ist und bleibt eine gelungene Wirtschafts-Sim, die blutjunge Einsteiger und künftige Manager auf den Plan ruft.

Overall Theme Park Roller Coaster is a game not to be missed by those PS2 owners out there. The sheer amount of replay value should keep you going for months, the visuals are more advanced than the PC's, the gameplay is plain addictive, you can play this game for three hours straight and not know it. I found Theme Park to be one of PS2s best games, I really enjoy playing this game, and not once have I experianced a dull moment. With all of the gameplay features the game packs, the somewhat helful and yet annoying advisor, and the easy to learn controls, you'll be playing Theme Park for a very long time, ask your parents for this game this holiday season.

Zunächst war ich hingerissen von der knuffigen Grafik sowie der einfachen Bedienung, doch angesichts fehlender Missionen und der recht kurzen Spieldauer kann man nur den Kopf schütteln. Immerhin zögern die originellen Fahrgeschäfte die Monotonie erstaunlich lange heraus, doch nach ein paar Stunden ist das erste Staunen verflogen. Was bleibt, ist eine wunderbare, witzige Wirtschaftssimulation für Einsteiger, die mit ein wenig Feinschliff und vernünftigen Aufträgen alle Konkurrenten locker abgehängt hätte.

På det hela taget så väger fördelarna mer än väl upp nackdelarna, men för att vara ett spel från Bullfrog hade vi nog väntat oss lite mer substans. Om du har ett yngre syskon eller annan valfri person med barnasinnet i behåll så är det här ett givet köp.

Theme Park World ist ein riesiger Baukasten: Ich setze mich hin, beginne zu spielen und vergesse die Welt. Oder würde sie vergessen, wenn nicht ein paar nervige Kleinigkeiten wären: Ich verliere bei großen Parks leicht die Übersicht, und in den Menüs benötige ich immer ein paar Klicks zuviel, um das zu tun, was ich will. Zudem fehlen mir als Fan von Rollercoaster Tycoon ein paar Komfortfunktionen und ein deutlich vorgegebenes Spielziel. Nichtsdestotrotz macht mir der Rummelsimulator vor allem wegen der liebevollen Präsentation, die allerdings auch Highend-Hardware erfordert, riesigen Spaß. Und die Internet-Einbindung ist eine wirklich zukunftsweisende Idee – bereiten Sie sich schon mal darauf vor, meine Parks auf Bullfrogs Server zu sehen...

Young children, and gamers looking for a quicker route to the fun would probably like Sim Theme Park better. It's much "cuter" than RCT, and has a lot more personality. Another important advantage is that you can also get up closer and zoom in to see the people better in Sim Theme Park than you can in Roller Coaster Tycoon. Sometimes in RCT you feel a bit too detached because you're zoomed out too far. The 4 unique themes actually give Sim Theme Park a more varied flavor than RCT, even though the actual ride selection in STP might be a bit smaller. The only things holding STP back are better control over ride maintenance, better AI for your staff, and a bit more variety in rides/shops. STP also demands a fairly hefty system. They're both excellent games, but if you've got a beefy enough computer, I think Sim Theme Park should get the slight nod over RCT. The first person aspect is just too cool to pass up.

Like most non-combat sims, a lot of the fun in this game comes from setting things up and watching what happens. I've rearranged entire thoroughfares to get people to try out the 'coaster I spent an hour working on, when all they wanted was the bumpercars to work. There's never enough drink shops, and some area is always being missed by the custodians. For all the hot spreadsheet action though, sometimes I just like kicking back, and seeing what's the big deal about the banana-swing.

The gameplay somehow drew me in. As skeptical as I was, I found myself looking up at my jewel encrusted clock at three o’clock in the morning, wondering if I had time to open another park. Maybe I would just lay down a couple of paths, possibly place a couple of rides, but that’s it. So foolish was I. I became addicted. I thought that Sim Theme Park was a ton of fun to play, and replay. It’s one of those games that you could pick up and start in on again after a month or two. I would recommend this game. It was highly enjoyable, sim or no sim. Everybody loves amusement parks, and this gives you a chance, a glimpse, of what it would be like to create one of your very own.

Une bien meilleure version que le précédent Theme Park grâce à la 3D et on retrouve l'humour anglais de Bullfrog dans les animations et les cinématiques. Cependant, le jeu aura peut-être tendance à lasser par son aspect répétitif et sa longueur.

Die tollsten Achterbahnen haben Sie mit Rollercoaster Tycoon gebaut. Und sich insgeheim gewünscht: Mann, wär das toll, wenn ich die Dinger mal ausprobieren könnte. Ihr Wunsch wird Wirklichkeit - in Theme Park World, dem 3D-Nachfolger zum erfolgreichen Vergnügungspark-Aufbauspiel von Bullfrog.

Everything within Theme Park World has been simplified to help get you underway, but the most annoying aspect of this game is that it doesn't realize that players grow up. "Hey, developers! We live and learn!" By the third world we don't want to be constantly reminded about high ticket prices because we can easily look at the gate. If customers are turning away we will drop our entry fee. Overall not a bad game for the first world, but after that it's just more of the same.

Eftersom det finns så många olika kombinationer, minispel, gömda detaljer och framåtanda i Theme Park World är det nästan omöjligt att tycka illa om spelet. Visst är det kanske lite väl påfrestande ibland, men ändå ett spel som man kan göra frekventa återbesök i. Att bygga sin egen värld är alltid kul.

This is a game I can definitely recommend, but there are some shortcomings. I find that I am still undecided about whether this is a game for kids or not. While the Sim Theme Park world is a bright, happy one filled with humor that can be enjoyed by all ages (as well as a very helpful, though very verbose assistant to walk you through), the creation of the Sim Theme Park system and, frankly, doing well at this game is difficult. I wonder if that would frustrate younger players.

It's average overall, although Sim Theme Park does have some features to recommend it. It's worth a try.

Bullfrog maakt prachtige games, maar de PSX-versie van Theme Park World is een beetje 'kapotversimpeld' en daardoor niet echt een plekje in je gameskast waard. Geef mij maar de PC-versie!

Sim Theme Park is a cute game with initial appeal and a nice premise, but eventually dies down to a slow whirl. Poorly ported graphics and controls don't help much, either. If you have a choice, you should probably buy a Disneyland ticket over this game. Believe me, it'll last longer.
