The Sims: Hot Date

The whole package comes together to create another magnificent Sims gaming happening. By sticking with what works and adding what was asked for, Hot Date is the fresh gameplay advancement that The Sims needed as we near closer to the release of Sims Online. This is the jalapeno-hot expansion pack that will get your Sims romantic juices flowing again.

However, this is by far the best Sims Expansion pack made. If you like The Sims, so buy it, you will not be disappointed one bit!

The downtown area is a brilliant addition to the Sims universe. I'm not used to heaping this much praise on a video game, but it is good. The Sims: Hot Date does an extremely good job of making The Sims a more interesting game. Like the previous two expansion packs, Livin' Large and House Party, it adds a lot of new items and furnishings for your sims' houses and actually complements each of the two other expansions well, even though neither is required to play Hot Date. Hot Date's real additions are its expanded social options and its new downtown area, both of which make an already-interesting game even more fun to play.

With this being the third expansion pack for the Sims, people may be weary of buying this edition because the other two expansion packs did not change the game play in a new way. However, Hot Date gives Sims game play a completely new flavor. It allows players to have more control over their Sims, meet a more diverse group of characters, and visit locales outside the home. It is the best of three expansion packs and a new reason to spend hours in front computer playing the game. It is a must have for any Sims fan. For those of you who are not major fans of the Sims in general, you may find this edition to be worthwhile and a reason to give the game a second chance.

Maxis has not announced The Sims 2, and with the continued success of the original, it doesn't need to. But Sims fans finding the game getting a bit stale will love the new downtown area, the dozens of objects and the new social interactions. Hot Date breathes new life into a game that hasn't even come close to dying.

Auch für Sims-Anfänger bietet das neueste Add-On eine willkommene Abwechslung und natürlich auch jede Menge weiterer Möglichkeiten für die freie Entfaltung der virtuellen Bewohner. Das Verlassen des trauten Heims und die in der Stadt gegebenen Möglichkeiten hauchen den Sims endlich wieder neues Leben ein und bieten wochenlangen Spielspaß. Hot Date ist bisher das mit Abstand beste Add-On für Die Sims!

This isn't the full-fledged leap that you're looking for -- you'll have to wait for Sims Online and the inevitable Sims 2 for that -- but it's certainly the largest step that the game has taken over the course of its life. While the other expansions have been mostly superficial in their additions, Hot Date tries to add some new elements to the mix. The same problems with the engine still exist, and if you're tired of making people go to the bathroom in the middle of making out with someone, you'll still be annoyed. If you've never stopped playing the series though, or if you've been looking for a reason to get back into the lives of your little polygon people, then there's no better time than with a hot, smoldering, sweaty, groping, throbbing...good clean date.

The addition of expanded conversation options, physical interactions and interests makes it much harder for your Sim to win friends, but it is a much more rewarding experience. It lends the game an eerie trace of depth and plenty of potential drama. Hot Date is definitely the most worthy of the Sim expansions, though a bit flawed. And it's more fun than a barrel full of gibbons.

In vergelijking met de vorige add-on is Hot Date een buitenbeentje, maar dan in de positieve zin van het woord. Er is een gevarieerder aanbod, de gameplay is op belangrijke punten uitgediept en ook de interface is heir en daar verfijnd.

Die Sims machte es uns seinerzeit ziemlich einfach: Wenn die Müllers von gegenüber mal auf einen Kaffee vorbeischauten, hat ihnen der Mann des Hauses einfach einen vorjongliert und vielleicht noch ein Geschenk aus der Hosentasche gezaubert und schon waren die Müllers ganz aus dem Häuschen und blieben auch zum Abendessen.

Hot Date provides for outstanding entertainment if you are willing to overlook the shortcomings when it comes to the new social interactions.

Now, Mac gamers everywhere can take their little Sims out on the town for a spot of dance & romance. No longer are the Sims confined to their nicely furnished homes, begging neighbors to come over and par-tay.

Still, this is my favorite of all The Sims expansion packs. It's the first one that really made it interesting again, since it's the first to add entirely new elements. Interaction with the other characters is now much more fun because there's more control. Also, a game thats goal is to hook up skanky computer characters is simply more fun the game thats goal is to get them jobs and families and aquariums. I mean, why else do you think all those MTV shows are so popular? It's fun to watch stupid people make asses of themselves, and it's even more fun when you're controlling them.

Un nouvel add-on qui plaira surtout aux fans des Sims en leur donnant la possibilité de jouer les entremetteurs avec leurs personnages. Sorti de là, ça reste du Sims avec tout ce que ça comporte comme avantages et comme défauts.

There's nothing like making little cartoon people simulators conduct more exciting lives than you'll ever have: raiding the fridge, watching TV, paying the bills, fighting with each other...and not going out any more than you do. It's been enough up till now...but you're feeling restless aren't you? Perhaps even lonely?

Var du en fan av The Sims är det här ett givet köp. Hot Date bygger ut The Sims ytterligare en gång, och gör det verkligen bra. Däremot är simmarna fortfarande sega och har lått för att gå vilse eller fastna i dörröppningar. Jag älskar The Sims och tycker att Hot Date är en klart köpvärd expansion, men nu är det dags att vidareutveckla konceptet och göra The Sims 2 - förslagsvis med hälften så snabb tidsåtgång samt två helgdagar per vecka för dina simmar att leka på.

Bien plus novateur que les deux premières extensions de la série, Les Sims et plus si affinités... apporte de nouvelles façons d'envisager les relations sociales entre les Sims, avec des sentiments plus faciles à évaluer, et surtout une ville entière à disposition pour sortir. Les défauts de la saga sont toujours bien présents, avec un manque d'autonomie un peu frustrant, des problèmes d'intelligence artificielle et, finalement, une lassitude qui peut gagner assez vite, mais les fans seront comblés. Les lacunes de ce moteur vieux de deux ans se font par contre énormément sentir et il serait peut-être temps de passer à The Sims II...
