As excellent as it’s ever been, but better. A must-buy for almost any RPG gamer, you will not be let down with this game. Pick it up and love it. One of my favorite games ever, and the number one game ever of many. Go for it, and pick this puppy up.

There are hardly any quality RPG’s on the GameCube, plain and simple. Skies of Arcadia: Legends helps fill the void to give players a change to feel what a true RPG on their system of choice feels like. The main problem with this game is that it feels a little dated, especially when you compare it to FFX or other games coming out shortly. Other than that it is a great game to play, and any person who likes to play RPG’s should pick up a copy.

Skies of Arcadia Legends is the same game as the Dreamcast original with a few gameplay tweaks and a lot of extra story content. Like before, you play as air pirate Vyse as his merry crew fights the Valuan Empire; this time, though, you'll get more background story on most of your party members. There's a gallery full of rogue pirates you can hunt down for cash, plus Sega has thrown in a couple of extra collection quests for variety, too.

While Skies of Arcadia is not a paramount of technical achievement, the substance is worth buying. Great story and great gameplay elements are the very meat of this title. If you have not played Skies of Arcadia yet, I suggest you go out and get this right away. If you already have the Dreamcast version, this is more up in the air. I was personally happy pay for the upgrades, but it may be up to the individual. Still, this title is a classic that belongs on any RPG fans shelf.

Skies of Arcadia Legends follows the adventures of a kid named Vyse and his childhood friend Aika. They and their people are Blue Rogues, members of a clan of air pirates that plunder armed ships to help the disadvantaged -- Robin Hoods of the skies. Adventure comes knocking when the Rogues raid a particular Valuan warship, rescuing a strangely clothed girl named Fina. Fina's wanted very badly by the Valuan government, but she can't or won't say why. To keep this short, one thing leads to another, other stuff happens, and suddenly Vyse, Aika, and Fina are on a grand quest to stop Valua from taking over the world.

La GameCube accueille son second meilleur RPG avec The Legend Of Zelda : The Windwaker.

Overall, Skies of Arcadia Legends is certainly nothing revolutionary in the way of RPGs -- in fact it's downright formulaic in many ways -- but what it does, it does well. It's also the only truly great turn-based RPG that GameCube has at the moment. The point is, if you haven't played Skies of Arcadia yet, this is the perfect addition to your GameCube collection, despite its age.

If this doesn't whet your appetite, I don't know what will. I suggest that everyone who has access to a GameCube makes an effort to play this game. It is definitely a game worth experiencing.

It's easy to write off Skies of Arcadia because it's not as good looking or as deep as other RPGs, but it is a fun game, and brings back a lot of the classic game play elements we loved in classic adventure titles. It's not ground breaking, but it is 40 hours of exciting, pirate-y goodness.

If you're looking for an enjoyable but fairly traditional RPG with a cracking storyline and likeable characters, Skies of Arcadia Legends comes about as highly recommended as any game can. Fans of the Final Fantasy games might find it a little primitive, and if you don't like Japanese style RPGs, this is quite distinctly not for you. It's great to see wonderful but under-rated games like this given a new lease of life on the Cube - but it's a bit sad that it's such a wasted opportunity, in ways. Given a fresh coat of digital paint on the graphics and a little tweaking of the battle system, this would stand up right alongside the best RPGs ever released over here. As it is, it's a pleasant diversion (and should last you about 60 hours of playtime!) but it falls just short of true greatness.

SoAL's music and sounds effects are crisp and clear. Only two flaws are apparent with the game. First, although you can change the color of your weapon to deal more damage to certain monsters, it's mainly guesswork as to which color to use. Secondly, instead of full-blown voice acting, the developers combine text dialogue with cheesy sound effects like "Uh-uh", "Yay!", "Yes!", etc. I recommend Skies of Arcadia Legends for any RPG fans, but its simple gameplay will accommodate any gamer who appreciates a good story.

Role-playing game fans who never got a chance to try the original are in for an engaging (though somewhat superficial) storyline with many great characters and some unique bits of gameplay as well.

The real question is: is there enough here to warrant buying and playing Legends again if you already did on the original format? In all honesty, we think there probably is. The more cynical among you may not be interested in all the little extras that have been included for this re-release but, like a good film, this would have been worth experiencing again if it hadn't been enhanced in any way. New players too should revel in the fact that the GameCube now has a title that merits some quality time, and while it may not be the prettiest game to hit the console, it's certainly among the most compelling and enjoyable. If it weren't for a heavy sense of déjà-vu and its outdated appearance, the final score may well be a figure or two higher, but as it stands, a lot of the impact has been lost second time around.
